Maybe based on the first post on this thread? Maybe on every post he's had on this forum?

I gotta put you on ignore. I can't handle this anymore.
go right ahead... you and this guy are comparing a 4th year first time starter to a career backup

he is not the answer so taking away playing time from Josh is not the answer either

so you're telling me that the points that LV made were not the same things said about mcnabb at the start of his career??

in no way am I saying he is mcnabb, but those are the same things they said about mcnabb and others.

but at least McNabb was making PLAYS with his legs - McClown ain't even doing that - I particularly wanted to throw up when he dances in front of the frist down on third and two in the first half - yeah we got a VERY generous (which of course was overturned correctly on replay) - spot but if he actually makes a play there - maybe we get a first down going into ATL territory and then - oh wait - who am I kidding - he would have looked good till we got to the ten and then ran abackwards ten yards and fumbled on second down anyway.

Hmmm, I remember McCown converting the first first down with his legs and body...sometimes it works...sometimes...

how in the world is he going to learn... and how is the team going to learn if he can be the guy sitting on the sidelines?

this is a contract year for him, so they need to find out if he will be the future...you can't find that out with him holding a clip board. this is an audition period no matter what anyone says. they were not and are not going to the playoffs. king would be nothing more than a stop gap and maybe lead to 2 or 3 wins.

We have a long history of quarterback evaluation around here at ASFN.

If we take into account our track record with these evaluations, our best move would be to start McCown for the rest of the year, and extend his contract as soon as possible.

but you are still missing the point of my post. he is doing the same thing that alot of qbs do when they have not had alot of PT...so will he develop? no one knows and we certainly know he won't get better sitting on the sidelines.

Look josh may or may not be the answer, but giving King a shot will make very little difference at this point. the cards need to find out what josh is made of.

they were not and are not going to the playoffs.

That's where you are wrong. With decent QB play, the Cards are at least 2-1, if not better. The Seahawks aren't that good. The Rams and 49ers suck.

Dennis Green has a certain winning percentage for a reason. So does McCown. So does King.

See - you can say this team wasn't going to the playoffs - but that was preseason thinking when we all assumed the defense wouldn't be nearly as good as it is. Josh and the O-line are THE two reasons we aren't 2-1 right now - no one and I mean no one should put the playoffs out of their minds if our defense can continue playing as well as it has. Even a caretaker on offense - who can at least move the chains and get the defense of the field for a little while could do it - so far Josh hasn't shown he can do that yet - I don't know if King could.

Let me say this - I'm all for starting Josh this weekend - we DO need to find out what he's really made of and maybe this beginning of the season isn't an indicator of his progress - HOWEVER - do you not agree that if the D is still keeping us in the game and Josh continues playing the way he has for the last htree weeks in the first half, i.e. - no touchdowns/turnovers - that he shouldn't be benched by King? And then what happens if King actually does lead us to our first win? I'm talking hypotheticals here - but what would you say then?

and if the other teams did this or that... the cards would have been blown out... that does not mean a darn thing now.

2004 = evaluation period
2005 = playoff contention or bust

but in 2004 - you need to also instill an attitude of winning and accountability - and if our leader - our QB isn't up to those standards - you gotta go with someone else - at least to see if he has a chance.

There is no evaluation period for him he has stated so.

King is not the answer.Let Josh take us to the red zone then send in the big guy. Throw 3 straight close to Fitz and let him earn his money.Josh and the tall one will battle for the starting position next year anyway.Forget King.

If King leads the cards to victory? Then we can say he deserves more playing time, but the question is...what has he done to deserve that shot?

I agree with that there should be some accountability, but at what cost? do we risk the future for a few token wins now?

from all indications that is not what DG wants... (ie pete kendall )

Your kidding right?

So he has to 'earn' your respect while McCown does nothing but lose yet you support him unconditionally?

Wait- So you want to let 3rd year McCown "develop" even though he's shown nothing, yet you want to label 2nd year Palmer making his 3rd start a bust.....not following that logic.

This is the exact logic McCown apologists use. They are the same posters that said Dave Mac was the man all the up until they finally fired his sorry butt then they jumped ship quick!

haven't you guys realized yet that DG was trying to sell his program?

he said alot of crazy things... he said top 5 offense... If he doesn't say it who will? doesn't mean it was realistic

i never said support him unconditionally... reread my earlier post... unless McCown completely falls apart... then he should be the guy.
