I'd give it an S, as in Solid. All, with the exception of Holden (possibly) should make the team, and contribute, this year. Can't say that any are future All Pro's, but they look like solid additions to me. We still need our QBOTF, and maybe a starting CB, along with DL help, but when BA, Larry and Carson leave there will be lots of talent left behind. But as everyone knows replacing CP is our #1 priority. But the draft was a good one. JMO.

It was great. They got Reddick which I wanted and they also picked up Baker. The rest of the drafts for me were icing on the cake.

A-.

Everything came out really solidly. I have faith we'll be a great team this year.

Unfortunately I have a nagging frustration about not taking ANY QB. I'm trying to remind myself that no one after Kizer I believed was a starter before the draft, but I wish we hadn't moved those final two 7s and would have taken a flier on Kelly.

I give the Cardinals an A- as well.

I like the Cardinals draft. The absence of adding a QB was a disappointment but otherwise I thought it was a solid draft. I can't criticize the Cardinals too much about the QB situation as the pickings were slim.

IMO, this draft was so much better than last year's draft and it seemed to be better designed. The Cardinals even addressed the offensive line and added a lot of speed to the roster at areas of need.

We'll know soon enough...

I wanted Jonathan Allen at #13 but if it's true he has no cartilage in his shoulder it's too risky. I like Reddick but I don't see an instant impact player right away. Although I think complete player/borderline star in 3-4 years and and that's what you shoot for in the first rd.

Prefered Marcus Williams over Baker if it meant not losing extra picks.

Butt over the receiver in the third.

B, if we would have got Tankersley instead of trading down and taking Williams it would be an A.

I see the logic in trading down in round 3 (pick up the 4th we lost). Seems like we got a very good player in Dorian, so that was probably worth it (2 for 1).

I agree that we missed on a #2 QB. That is arguably our biggest need heading into the draft/this season and we whiffed. We also missed on a QB to try and develop...Kelly in the 7th round was just too much value to pass up (John Elway thought so too).

The draft was still really good and I think BASK controlled it very well (moving up and down while not reaching for a QB or CB).

Can't wait to see their plan for #2 CB and QBOTF.

Reddick should contribute this season as a 3rd down pass rusher, which is a boon for a ILB. He should be better than Foster in this regard.

Baker will be a swiss Army knife DB and was easily the BPA in round 2. Thats why I have no issue about the trade, Baker is a 1st round talent. Mathieu v2.

I have faith in the Chad Williams pick. Good sized, strong and fast. This team desperately needed a guy like him. From the way it sounds, he was a guy they were targeting and he probably wouldn't have been available later. Reminds me of the situation surrounding the John Brown pick.

Dorian Johnson was truly BPA. I'm excited about the depth the team is building on the oline. With Toner, Johnson, Wetzel, and John, this team has a group of young lineman backing up the starters that have talent.

TJ Logan!!! Wow. More speed for the offense. Anyone remember BAs first season? That season, the Cardinals were a SLOW team. Now this team has speed throughout. 3 Wideouts that run around 4.3 40s. Two RBs that run in the 4.4s. Few teams have DBs/LBs that can keep up. Logan should help in subpackages and on STs.

I love the Ford pick, he looks quick and tough. At worst he becomes a core special teamer while he develops.

Massively screwed up the first round, then had to compensate by trading up in the 2nd to get the S. THEN had to trade back to make up for the trade up, which cost us a shot at a CB. Instead we took a small-school project with character issues in the 3rd, adding to an already questionable locker room. DJ was a great pick, raising the draft grade. For the rest, well, late round picks are hard to knock.

Questionable lockerroom? Thats a stretch.

B.

  • Allen, Hooker, Foster, & Reddick. I'm just not sure we didn't take the worst of the 4.
  • Is Baker worth all of that draft capital?
  • Would Chad Williams have been there in the 4th? 5th?

Time will tell if they did the right thing. At first glance though..... You cant be fully confident IMO.

Allen Hooker Foster all have one thing that Reddick doesn't have injury questions. Of the 4 I liked Hooker the most but was good with Reddick I didn't want the other two at 13.

When you look at Baker I thought he was a steal where we got him when all said and done one 4th round draft pick after other moves.

Williams was questionable forsure in 3rd round, but I don't question the position or Kiem with these small school guys.

There were some moves I liked some I questioned but time will tell what we got.

Completely disagree with your emotional response. i don't think we screwed up at all. we got the players that the brass wanted and they didn't hesitate. I think your response is very subjective. As far as the locker room goes...I would bet that having CC, Jefferson, Swearinger all playing for contracts was the problem. Add in Floyd and his struggles and I think they cleaned it up. This is conjecture on my part and I am not afraid to admit it.

There is a reason Allen and Foster dropped. Both have major injury concerns with Foster still needing another surgery on his rotator cuff plus all his charecter issues. I can see passing on Hooker if they had singled out Baker as there guy

Watching tape on our picks I was very impressed with Reddick, Baker and Johnson. All three are starters and potential pro-bowlers. I think Chad Williams is a third wideout and should play a lot this year. I love the TJ Logan pick. We finally have a good return man.
Don't care for the Holdin pick. Watched film on him and he doesn't have good feet. Bradley Sowell was better.

B-....Didn't like the Holden pick and how did we come out of a CB deep draft without one.....Chad Williams could have been picked later....Loved the value received in the Johnson, Logan and Ford picks....Believe they all make the team.....Reddick and Baker solid picks.....

Solid draft. We know that B.A. and S.K. are well aware of the QB situation and I have no doubt it will be addressed in a smart way somewhere down the road. Charlie Casserly today was saying on NFL Network that all 3 teams "reached" in trading up for their new perspective QB's. I think we'll be glad we didn't follow suit.

Mark in SC :)

I was impressed by the number of inspiring back stories - not just draft picks but the UDFA's - one guy worked as a janitor in an Indy building near where they hold the combine.

He sucks and plays soft. Refuses to tackle or get involved in the running game support. Per Manock was single handedly responsible for 3 TD's given up because he refused to tackle... Not the kind of player I would want on the team AT ALL.
