If I were GM, he’d be my priority 1.

He was drafted here, homegrown, and he has stepped up.

professional teams keep guys just like this.

He should have been re-signed during the offseason. He will cost a lot more now, possibly more than we can afford without letting Larry go.

Sure. But not for big money. He's nowhere near consistent enough.

7 of his 10 sacks come in 2 games. He has 3 in the other 13. Including a 5 game stretch without a sack after the Bye.

All his sacks have been on rookies, new starters and no names.

The 15m+ guys get sacks consistently and against top tier opponents.

That's not Reddick. Not right now.

Maybe if they hadn't spent 3 years messing him up.

Tag him. If he does it 2 years in a row you can do a long term deal but $15-$20 million for a guy who’s produced for one year is a gamble you shouldn’t take. Yes, the team is to blame for how they brought him along but they can’t double down on their foolishness by giving him a huge extension.

He didn't even have a qb hit in that 5 game stretch with no sacks. Cards going to be making some big decisions in off-season with all the free agents & last thing you what do is pay big money cause of a flash in pan performance

There is some lunacy going on around here. People suddenly want to tag a player because he had a career game? Seriously? Those 5 sacks were also the only tackles he had all game. I don't understand how you justify $15 million for what he has done to date. I can see him testing the market because it would be in his own best interest to do so.

I would tag him and let him ball out next year and pay if its indeed worth it.

Cant not pay a premium pass rusher in todays league, Hopefully he earns his money.
Like seeing these dudes get paid.

Too be fair, Reddick & Baker have probably been the Cards best defensive player for the season despite the inconsistency.

Hassan has played pretty well all season despite the stats you stated. I’m not so sure it’s a stretch to see him as the team’s defensive MVP when the season is over.

Much depends on how Reddick finishes out these last few games. If the Cards let him walk and he signs a big deal somewhere else, do they still collect a comp pick (because we declined the 5th year option)?

I'd probably put the same three-year, $24 million deal in front of Reddick and Markus Golden and say the first one to sign gets it.

I like that too. I'd like to sign both of them but I don't see how that would happen with the cap shrinking and deciding on what to do with Fitz...

Hes not worth the tag for OLB's. He has had one good year, that has really boiled down to 2 great games.

I wish we would have picked up his 5th year option now in hindsight...but he didn't earn that either.

Let him walk, get a comp pick, and focus on getting Golden to sign here for 2-3 years. He had proven to be good over multiple years and plays well across from Jones.

You don't gut the team or pass on other players to resign a one year wonder like Reddick.

No.

I had forgotten about that. In that case, the transition tag is best applied to him. If Peterson signs a large deal somewhere else he would at least count towards our comp pick formula.

I do believe that is overpaying for Golden. I think I would cap his offer at 5 mil.

actually 5 does sound more right for Golden.

can you use the Franchise and Transition tags in the same year? If so, I wouldn’t be crushed if we transitioned Peterson and franchises Reddick or Vice versa.

next year SHOULD be the ALL IN third year to make a big run at the whole thing.

Nope. Can only use the transition tag if you don't use the franchise.

Reddick deserves to be resigned and an actual feather in Keim's hat compared to other draft selections. I would tag him and then during the meantime see if this production is realistic. Fact, if you do not he will get offered contracts far more than his value since pass rushers are a premium
