It does worry me that Paul Coro has not posted an update on this trade in about 3 hours.. he is silent, and that is kind of scary...

Though the Curry article is still up on AZcentral.com, so that is encouraging..

Especially when the Suns passed up some decent backup PGs to pick the other Griffin. The Taylor Griffin selection leaves me totally puzzled. Were the Suns FO throwing darts at the draft board?

I also understand the Suns sold #57. If the Suns don't pull off the trade with GS this team is looking like toast.

Pesonally I think the trade should be:

Amare (if he extends deal) + Clark for

Biedrins,Curry, Wright, Bellinelli.

Amare is a superstar. Biedrins is adequate, and a couple of Warriors have potential.
Suns need to to take control of this. Warriors need the Suns. Suns don't need the Warriors. Warriors will give them what they want or they can shove it.
Unfortunately, Kerr might not be capable of taking control of this.

From Ric Bucher:

@sportsguy33 phx source says curry was picked for him, but gs source denies it, so we stayed away from it. i believe the gs source is lying.

It's a done deal and curry and randolph are not included. I have an inside source in the suns fo that I have got reliable info from in the past.

Better not be the case. You think Sarver and Kerr are getting roasted for previous deals...just wait.

If they can't get Curry or Randolph, now that expectations have been set, they would be better to just keep Amare, let him blow up in Phx next year, and either trade him at the deadline or sign and trade next year.

Ok, somebody help me out with salary-rules. If Amar'e can sign an extension when being traded, why can't he sign one with us without being traded?

Or did Kerr ask him and Amar'e didn't want to?

?

Something keeps telling me that this won't end well. I guess this team has broken my heart too many times.

I think the Suns don't want to extend him, or at least not for his anticipated asking price.

In addition, if GS is trying to back out after a verbal agreement to the trade with Curry included, screw 'em.

Keep Amare, and call out GS management in the press. Let the pit bull sportswriters and their fans loose on them for being bald face liars and doing nothing to improve their team next year.

After years of mediocrity, followed by one playoff appearance that electrified Northern California, you think Warriors fans are gonna be happy to lose a true veteran star big man like Amare for another rookie guard who will be gone after his contract is up?

How many tickets they gonna sell next year when folks realize they are a young lottery team again?

That's the problem, Cohen can do nothing and the Fans still show up and sell-out on a reqular basis... Warrior's fanbase is very loyal and that douche Cohen knows it.

Us W's fans are big suckers...

So his contract COULD be extended? Wow, I had no idea. Why worry about him leaving next year, then? From reading some comments one would have the feeling we're talking about an aged player.

He's just 27 and about to enter his prime. He seemed to have fully recovered from his injury. The eye thing doesn't bother me too much.

I'd rather see him being signed to a long-term contract then accepting role-players in a trade.

A line-up of

Nash
Richardson
Hill
Stoudemire
Chandler

with Barbosa, Dudley, Clark, Amundson and Lopez coming of the bench sounds good to me.

oh.. right now its on the front page of Real GM... I dunno..

There is some specualtion that Amare could have shot down the extention and consequently, the deal fell through...

personally I am scarred to death that this trade doesn't go through, and like I have always said I don't think Amare will remain with us, ESPECIALLY after this whole fiasco..

This was about as great of a deal as the suns could have POSSIBLY IMAGINED, and watching him walk for nothing is a sickening thought...

Well, after this fiasco, the only way to keep Amare is to make him the man on the team by trading Nash. That'd be a great byproduct though.:D

Who else finds it almost comical that the Suns draft room reportedly erupted in cheers (when Currey didn't go earlier and they knew they had him) only to have Golden State now saying "nah....we want to keep him but we will stake make a trade with you".

If Golden State really is trying to pull that, it just goes to show you how far the Suns have fallen in NBA circles. When you have a lowly team like Golden State trying to pull the rug out on the Suns at the last minute.......wow...how the mighty have fallen.

yeah, this FO is just like a bunch of kids, so easily manipulated. It's embarassing. But GS could always back out on the deal by not giving Amare the desired extension.

Something keeps telling me that this won't end well. I guess this team has broken my heart too many times.

I like the idea of Curry on the Suns, its run and gun and this guy has a damn good gun. I wish we could get Wright too.

Amare can't guard anyone, picks up pathetic fouls and becomes a non factor in many games. I'm done with the Amare love fest, dude's gotta go if we ever wanna see a championship.

Well, both sides have to agree, of course. I suspect that Stoudemire would take a huge extension from the Suns if they offered it, but he might not. I certainly don't get the impression that he'd agree to a home-town discount.

He's just 27 and about to enter his prime.

NBA players need to be "in" their prime by 27, not "about to enter" it.

He seemed to have fully recovered from his injury.

Not to some of us. If you compare video highlights of him pre- and post-surgery, there seems to be a pretty clear difference. And in any case, the pseudocartilage that microfracture creates is only a temporary fix. It isn't as durable as regular cartilage, and it is destined to break down.

I'd rather see him being signed to a long-term contract then accepting role-players in a trade.

It's a tough call. If the Suns can't get good value for Stoudemire, they might as well keep him, at least for now.

(You forgot Dragic.) I agree, but we don't really know whether Wallace for Chandler is an option. Lots of rumors this time of year are bogus, and maybe that's one of them.

no Curry, no deal. Biedrins and a poo-poo platter for Amare is not going to cut it.

At least I'll be able to get cheap suns tix next year!

I think I'd rather have a Chicago package than a Curry-less/Randolph-less Golden State package. Don't get me wrong; I wouldn't want either, but if I had to pick one...

Noah, Tyrus Thomas, filler, and the #16

or

Beidrins, Wright, and Belinelli

So Paul Coro has yet to update us on what is going on so take the following with that in mind.. BUT ON azCENTRAL.COM (comments section) this was posted:

"the general concensus is the deal is going to go through even chad ford has said such in his draft evaluation as does chris mannix. Brad Cesmat also says he 90% sure this deal goes through"

Chriss Mannix is the NBA writer for SI, and I went back and read Ford, both d seem to think the trade will go through Curry included...

This coming from the guy who all but announced the trade as dead just a few hours ago...

again this could all be spin and speculation, but I needed some good news before I went to bed, and instead I got positive news, but at this point I'll take it...

In a van...down by the river.
I've been stuck at work all night with only KTAR radio to keep me informed sporatically.
If possible could someone give me a brief on this supposed GS/SUNS trade?
I'd rather not read thru 80 posts of speculation from 6 hrs ago.
Please....:)

I've read all 200 posts and I have no idea. It all depends on who you believe.

I'm tired.
