I like the Earl Clark pick, does this proposal involve keeping him here?
NONE of the rumors involved him going anywhere.
I like the Earl Clark pick, does this proposal involve keeping him here?
Thanks DevilalumNONE of the rumors involved him going anywhere.
I've been stuck at work all night with only KTAR radio to keep me informed sporatically.
If possible could someone give me a brief on this supposed GS/SUNS trade?
I'd rather not read thru 80 posts of speculation from 6 hrs ago.
Please....
I think I'd rather have a Chicago package than a Curry-less/Randolph-less Golden State package. Don't get me wrong; I wouldn't want either, but if I had to pick one...
Noah, Tyrus Thomas, filler, and the #16
or
Beidrins, Wright, and Belinelli
From 45 minutes ago.For those who didn't watch the telecast - all freakin' 84 hours - the Amare trade is expected to get done after July 8, when FA period opens
Thanks Folster. Yeah, I liked the E. Clark pick alot at #14, then got confused about the GS deal thinking we were swapping #7(Curry) for #14(Clark) in addition to trading Amare for Beidrins/garbage etc..A couple hours prior to the draft word came down that Phoenix and Golden State were discussing a trade centered around Stoudemire and Beidrins. As the draft started ESPN reported the potential trade as Stoudemire for Beidrins, Wright, Belinelli, and the #7. Speculation grew as the #6 pick was announced as Johnny Flynn. According to KTAR the Suns war room erupted with cheers when Flynn was picked. Many assumed it meant that GS was picking for us at #7 and we would get Curry.
It seems as if GS is renegging now. Their GM has said that they are keeping him and that he was the guy they wanted all along. There have been reports that the Warriors want Amare extended prior to the trade and are perhaps balking at the amount he wants and they are trying to renegotiate the trade to keep Curry. Randolph has been absent from any of the rumored trades unfortunately.
Suns fans are pissed and think that Kerr is getting railroaded yet again. We are all in agreement that no Curry or Randolph = no Amare.
Golden State's selection of Davidson point guard Stephen Curry at No. 7 was likely made for the Suns as part of an Amaré Stoudemire trade that can't be completed until Wednesday. That is because Phoenix would be acquiring Warriors center Andris Biedrins, a base-year compensation player, as part of a Stoudemire deal that would include more Warriors players, possibly power forward Brandan Wright and/or shooting guard Marco Belinelli.
Amare can't guard anyone, picks up pathetic fouls and becomes a non factor in many games. I'm done with the Amare love fest, dude's gotta go if we ever wanna see a championship.
Well, both sides have to agree, of course. I suspect that Stoudemire would take a huge extension from the Suns if they offered it, but he might not. I certainly don't get the impression that he'd agree to a home-town discount.
NBA players need to be "in" their prime by 27, not "about to enter" it.
Not to some of us. If you compare video highlights of him pre- and post-surgery, there seems to be a pretty clear difference. And in any case, the pseudocartilage that microfracture creates is only a temporary fix. It isn't as durable as regular cartilage, and it is destined to break down.
It's a tough call. If the Suns can't get good value for Stoudemire, they might as well keep him, at least for now.
Sounds good. If it doesn't work, trade him near the deadline. Or let him walk if he gets a better offer and use the cap room. With a good team still in place, we might actually interest a free agent to join the Suns.
(You forgot Dragic.) I agree, but we don't really know whether Wallace for Chandler is an option. Lots of rumors this time of year are bogus, and maybe that's one of them.
The first two players coming to my mind with regards to that statement: Steve Nash (hard to compare)
Karl Malone (was a mega-athletic highlight-player and became a fantastic player with his mid-range jump-shot). Both of these guys had there best year well past the 27.
I don't think you can win in the NBA without "star players" - no matter how deep your team is.
Yes it is....I would have to agree.....but we've still got Steve Nash multitasking as our PG of the future/GM/head coach.Could be legality reasons, you dont want to be involved trading players when YOU CANT... so for that purpose... yeah, hopefully.. it goes through next week sometime...
Curry + Wright + Biedrins + Azuibuke is a GOOD trade for SUNS...
Coro posted a new article. Says the deal WILL NOT be made without Curry.

Mentions a
Curry + Beans + Wright + Bellinelli for Amare.
Ok, you may be right on that.I think it has something to do with Beidrins numbers changing next Wednesday and that's what makes it all work.
Definitely hard to compare.
If you say so. Malone won his MVPs after age 27, but that was sort of by default during Jordan's first retirement. Statistically, Malone's peak was 1987-95, ages 24-32, with the very best years right in the middle of that band.
But in any case, Malone's game wasn't based on athleticism nearly so much as Stoudemire's. (That's part of the reason he was never hurt.) If the main thing you do is jump around like a spring chicken, it's silly to expect to keep your peak game into your mid-30s.
No, definitely not. But you also can't win with a second-tier player chewing up 1/3 of your payroll.
I don't mean to sound like a goober but according to the infamous ESPN trade machine the numbers aren't even close to adding up for:
Amare
for
Beidrins
Bellini
Wright

Am i missing something? Stephen Curry's rookie contract maybe?
If Azubuike is added it comes extremely close.
Elindholm....are you still awake? LOL
True. But I tend to disagree calling Amar'e "second-tier". If you look at how many max deals there are, I'd say Stoudemire belongs to the ones more deserving the max.
He is certainly not in the LeBron/Howard/Bryant- league, but there ain't too many big man I'd rather have on my team than Amar'e.
