This deal had a several problems from the start.

Seems like GS didn't think Curry would still be there at 7.
GS has to negotiate a deal with Amare on short notice.
Had to wait til Wednesday for Biedrins.

Deals that have to many variables usually fall apart. GS isn't the only team that wants Amare. A lot can happen between now and the trade deadline.

Why would the Warriors send all that young talent AND their draft pick for a one year rental? That would be the height of stupidity...

Kerr is not dealing from the power position here, for the franchise is desperate to shed salary. If the W's "held to the deal" for a one year player that would be like trading in your house, Lexus GS 400, and Cardinals Season tickets to rent a Lamborgini for 1 year...:doi:

I don't think that we're desperate to shed salary any more. The Shaq trade saved Sarver a ton of money, and if this Amare deal went through, it's not because of monetary reasons. In fact, I don't even think it will save us anything.

They wouldn't. That would be stupid. However, if they thought Amare wouldn't be asking for $20+ mil per year, they are stupid and/or high.
Additionally, the deal was Biedrins, Curry, and fillers for Stoudemire, so no Curry- no Stoudemire.

On a different note, If the trade does go through I guess the Suns would just need to get Baron Davis to almost completely remake the team into the Warriors:

Barnes
J-Rich
Azubuike
Wright
Biedrins
Bellinelli

Who else finds it almost comical that the Suns draft room reportedly erupted in cheers (when Currey didn't go earlier and they knew they had him) only to have Golden State now saying "nah....we want to keep him but we will stake make a trade with you".

If Golden State really is trying to pull that, it just goes to show you how far the Suns have fallen in NBA circles. When you have a lowly team like Golden State trying to pull the rug out on the Suns at the last minute.......wow...how the mighty have fallen.

True, but I wonder if Amare still wants an opt-out. The W's owner is a complete jackass though, so it wouldn't surprise me.

We need Jerry, the Godfather back. He wouldn't put up with this crap.

It's kind of to be expected though when you have intra-division foes trying to make a trade that may make the other team that much better/worse.

There is no way this is true... I can not accept this as fact... Kerr is bad.. but he CAN'T BE THAT BAD??

This can't be.. if this is true, I will ABSOLUTELY LOSE IT.. there would be no excuse, NONE, to accept this deal without Curry/Randolph...

I have to believe the Suns have a little common sense, just a little....

This seems strange to me, because Kerr has been overvaluing Amare in other trade talks (Butler + 5th, Jefferson +6th). And we eventually settle on the role player pot pourri from the Warriors? I don't buy it.

It does worry me that Paul Coro has not posted an update on this trade in about 3 hours.. he is silent, and that is kind of scary...

Though the Curry article is still up on AZcentral.com, so that is encouraging..

flat out if curry or randolph arent in it then there is no way that the deal should come close to happening. but since the warriors cant talk to amare till after july 1 to ask if he would sign a new contract then i dont see this as a dead deal yet.

Yeah, I am not buying it either. Nobody in their right mind trades Stoudemire for Biedrins and Wright.

The old bait and switch. Didn't that happen with the Q/KT trade I seem to recall the trade being announced and then the Knicks decided they changed their minds catching the Suns with their pants down and getting a 1st added to complete the deal.

No way we trade Amare for four role players. We need some star potential out of the trade. Curry or Randolph. Period.

Granted I have extremely low expectations from our teams front office, but even I refuse to believe that unless some 1st rounders are involved.

If this is true. Steve Kerr needs to resign. Immediately.

Then why did the Suns FO celebrate when Curry was taken by Golden State @ 7? It doesn't make any sense

Yeah, I am not buying it either. Nobody in their right mind trades Stoudemire for Biedrins and Wright.

I am with you guys. The Suns per Paul Coro cheered Curry not being picked which means they fully expected him to be in a Suns uniform.

If this is true, then chalk me up to the side that says the FO should be fired. That includes Kerr and Griffin.

How incompetent do you have to be to screw up a trade involving a pick that you really can't have with the Cavs and lost the player you were cheering for because a crap organization like Golden State got one over on you.

I'd call their bluff and demand Curry AND Randolph now that they are trying to pull this crap.
Worst case scenario- we get $18 mil to sign people when Amare leaves.

Agreed. You do not make that trade. I would rather have Amare's expiring contract then take the GS crap they are offering.
