I believe Tre is Eric's nephew. Eric also who has a son who is a junior this year IIRC.

I had to do the math when I read it. That would mean he became a father when he graduated from high school.

You're not that old.

Anyone know how ASU is doing with the other Rancho Cucamonga guys after landing the Latu Bros?

Rancho is beyond stacked this year with defensive prospects. 4 * Safety Tahaan Goodman, plus 4* CB Chris Hawkins (current soft verbal to USC) and Chris' brother Armond is another CB who's starting to get interest from P-12 schools.

There's been tons of talk about Tahaan Goodman and Priest Willis wanting to play together in college. These package deals fizzle all the time, and it seems insane to imagine ASU being the school to land the pair. But other bigger name schools are filling up DB slots quickly, so maybe ASU has a very outside chance.

I've got images of Roses dancing in my head when I think about the possibility of a defense w/ the Hawkins boys at CB, Willis and Goodman at the Safety slots and the Latu Bros and Chans Cox at LB.

Don't follow football recruiting that closely, but heard via a friend who works at a local HS that Willis is likely going to LSU.

That was the word a while back, that he and Goodman were both going to LSU.

However LSU already has commits from 2 4* safeties from their own state, Jeremy Cutrer and John Diarse.

Willis can also be a CB, but LSU is pretty stacked their with commits as well (they have 3). If Willis & Goodman are serious about playing together, LSU doesn't seem like a likely choice. But both Willis and Goodman are visiting LSU on Nov 3rd, so who knows.

USC, another possible landing spot for the Goodman/Willis combo also has 2 Safety commits already. 5*/#1 S Su'a Cravens and 4* S Max Redfield, though Scout lists Redfield as a "soft" USC verbal.

My hope is that w/ these other powerhouses loading up already maybe Goodman/Willis fall into ASUs lap.

I think ASU wants Willis to play safety, and that's a sticking point. Willis wants to play CB. I think other schools are recruiting him as a corner with the intention of moving him to safety. The kid's not a corner, but he has people in his ear (Terrell Suggs?) telling him he is.

It might be a situation ASU is idling on because they're not sure they want to be in business with his posse, but that's just a read from the outside looking in.

I hope thats not the case. With kids of this talent level I don't think ASU is yet in the position to be dictating to them what position they should play during recruiting. Id hope they'd pitch him like "well you can play corner if you come here but depending on how it goes you may have to switch to S at some point." Though maybe its good Graham is being honest, what do I know.

DJ Foster likely would be a lot better off long term playing as a DB, he's unlikely to ever be a RB in the NFL. But he wanted to play offense, so he plays offense.

Really?? Bummer... Why? Common thread or a variety of reasons??

Early commits out of Texas are hard to hold on to. Once Mixon softened, the other guys followed him. Missouri benefits.

ASU this weekend is hosting several recruits

, including four-star receiver Eldridge Massington of West Mesquite High in Texas. ESPN.com lists the 6-foot-3 Massington as the nation’s No. 17 receiver. A former USC commit, he has reportedly trimmed his list to ASU, Alabama, Tennessee and UCLA.

Alabama is going to be very, very hard to beat, but there probably is no more important recruit on ASU's list. If he's anywhere near where the scouts say he is, landing this kid changes all the dynamics of the roster and the offense next season.

I haven't watched Alabama play this year, what are they running offensively? Do they pass the ball much?

No, but that hardly matters when they're telling the kid he'll be their primary receiver in his class. They can point to Julius Jones.

OK, fair enough.

But I am glad to hear that Alabama is still not passing the ball much. As such, an argument can be made that he would attract more attention playing for ASU in the pass happy PAC 12, get way more balls thrown his way, resulting in more big plays, more TD's, better stats, and a much better highlight reel for himself. He could be the next John Jefferson, and that's pretty good company. Also, entering ASU's 2013 class is a great place to be for a WR since he would be coming in with QB Joshua Dobbs who can really air it out.

When I think of Alabama football, I think of grinding it out running game, low scoring football. ASU is a much better place for a WR.

Massington will decide this week reportedly
http://www.azcentral.com/insiders/d...target-massington-expects-to-decide-saturday/

Eldridge Massington, a 4-four-star receiver from West Mesquite High in Texas, plans to make his college decision Wednesday. And the senior said Sunday night that Arizona State is a strong possibility.
After visiting them, I’d say ASU is at the top, but it’s going to be hard to decide,” Massington said.
Massington also is considering Alabama and UCLA. He has visited all three schools.
Massington, who missed his senior season with an ACL injury, visited the Sun Devils this past weekend. He said he liked what he saw and heard, especially during a meeting and film sesson with offensive coordinator Mike Norvell.
They said they would use me everywhere,” Massington said. “In the slot, on the outside, on reverses, all kinds of stuff. … They said if I don’t play away right away, it’s my fault.”

Beau Sandland, a 4-star JUCO TE is also slated to announce his college decision on Wednesday. Priest Willis is making his announcement at the Under Armour AA game on January 4. No telling when AZ's other high profile unsigned player, Devon Allen will decide though.

ASU has landed a couple of JUCO OL this week, JC teammates, a OC & OT, so at least they got the ball moving at those positions.
