Had pretty much zero affect. Winning/losing bowl games doesn't matter. Being in them does.

Winning gets you in the door of better recruits. Relationship gets the commitment. Losing a bowl game wasn't going to impact the latter.
Yep, you'd be surprised at how few games recruits watch of the teams recruiting them. Most of them are out with their girlfriends or partying with their boys on Saturday nights.

Alex Anderson to Texas. I think Kenyon Frison is their best hope left to get some interior beef. He's a good one. YMMV where you hear he's going, but ASU is generally expected to be at the top of that list.

ASU hosted 4-star OG Ty Barrett who is currently committed to either TCU or Baylor and rumor is ASU is making a strong push for him. Frison is listed as an OT so I think he is the fall back option for Casey Tucker who is a lock for Stanford if he gets accepted.

My understanding is ASU has the opposite opinion: They would prefer Frison over Barrett, primarily because Frison has more versatility. I don't think ASU pushed Barrett for a commitment, so they have some back-tracking to do on that, now.

Well both Frison (UU) and Barrett (TCU) have backed off their commitments after visiting ASU, so that can't be a bad sign.

I'm sure the Casey Tucker ship has long sailed, which is a bummer. But getting those 2 will go a long way in making up for that.

If everything breaks right, this could be the kind of recruiting class Rose Bowl teams are made of.

Would they take both? I haven't paid attention to the numbers this year to know that. I think they're already pitching greyshirts to some of their earlier recruits, so they're obviously counting on closing on some guys they didn't expect to be in on.

I read somewhere that ASU has 2 more slots to fill. Not sure how true that is or not though.

I have a hard time keeping track of who's grey-shirting, who's going to possibly get an offer pulled b/c someone else came along, how many schollies are available, etc.

If I spent the brain power required to accurately track the fluidity of recruiting, I'd lose my mind :)

By my unofficial count, if they land everyone they want, they'll be four over. Pretty sure four greyshirts don't make it to Feb. 2015.

Geeze, ASU might finish with the top class in the P12 after all. Great work by Graham and Co.

I feel bad for the local kids who are missing the boat.

I watched the video, he didn't look super fast, but looked like a big strong receiver, Q Boldin type, and someone that can really get up for a catch.

If this holds to signing day, opposing defenses will need a couple of solid corners to defend us and won't be able to focus on Strong as much. With Foster moving to the backfield, we can put our next best receiver in the slot and open up a lot of options

Reported to have a 4.45 40 time. Not lightening... but fast enough.

So with 2 schollies left, a recruit enrolled at a CC, I figure they are looking for OT Kenyon Frison & maybe either 5-star DE Deondre Clark who will visit next week or OT Kaleb McGary who also visits next week. Looks like DE Qualen Cunningham has cancelled his visit to ASU this weekend, bummer.

He can do everything Strong can do (and maybe a little better), AND he can block.

I don't really follow recruiting, but a Strong clone would make the offense incredibly tough to play against. Most teams find it difficult enough already to stop the shoulder fade without having to worry about matching up against another ball winner.

He's a touch faster than Strong as well... Lauderdale supposedly has a 4.45 forty and Strong has a 4.55...

Yeah. Strong wasn't typically lined up at X. You'd find him more at Z, next to the sidelines, trying to use his strength to get separation for that backshoulder pass. Lauderdale is a proto-typical X, which would allow Strong to stay at his more natural position. Lauderdale is also much better using his hands to get out of jams.

So excited for next year. From all reports Lauderdale will play right away, opposite side of Jalean Strong. The Taylor Kelly back shoulder fade will be twice as difficult to defend! The slot receiver we will have Rick Smith back, plus Tyler Whiley and Gump Hayes coming in to play. I am not sure what the plans are for tight end now that Coyle has graduated, but this offense is going to be a force next year!

Next years offense should be a lot of fun….the defense however? Who knows.

Re: TE, it'll be D. Nelson, who we saw run the ball well in a few games towards the end of the year. He's probably more suited to the H Back type role that Charles Clay once played under Graham than Coyle was. He can run it, block, or catch passes.

Word on the street in that they will also get 3-star JUCO CB Kweishi Brown. Very similar to Damarious Randall skill wise. Much like ARZ Cardinals the O-line could have used a few more bodies.
