I choose the running man. I feel like with todays technology, we could make it sooooooooo much better. Love the old one.

Not necessarily a remake, but I really want a movie that has the same magic as The Goonies did back in the day. Harry Potter had it, but nothing has really had it since.

Brewster's Millions. GREAT high concept idea back in the day... only okay execution.

Logan's Run, The Black Hole, The Last Starfighter.
A Black Hole remake is or has been in the works for a few years now. This was the first movie i can remember seeing as a kid.
Maximilian was awesome!

I'd be ok with Disney remaking the Star Wars prequels.

Always thought Westworld would be great given modern FX, but we have the TV show now.

There's some 60's and 70's movies that could be better with today's technology, but imo, very few 80's movies. There's a certain campyness to them now that just defines the decade.

It's already one of the most remade ideas in show biz. It's from a turn of the century (previous century) novel that was made into a Broadway play and has produced at least a half dozen movies that I'm aware of. It's even been done with a gender switch.

Hmmmm, let's see. ET. The Lion King. Hoosiers. The Godfather. Empire Strikes back...

(Did Stout's head explode yet or should I keep going?)

:p

Honestly I'm sick of remakes, I want this generation to show an ounce of creativity and come up with some more original ideas.

I get sick of remakes but at the same time, some movies could really use better treatment than the originals.

Prove it. Compared to other remakes? Come on. You hate EVERYTHING, so this isn't a surprise.

I don't need to prove it to think that I and many others disliked it. But, to comment, it was crushed on Rotten Tomatoes, everyone I talked to either hated it or, at best, thought it was lifeless and uninspired, and IMO it was worse than the original. I'd say that makes for a bad remake.

Sure, there have been loads of worse remakes, but that doesn't make this one a GOOD remake. It was boring and brought nothing to the table.

You're telling me you liked this one? If so, okay. I'll disagree greatly with your opinion, but okay. Are you instead just arguing the point, though?

It was ok. Certainly wasn't as cheesy as the original, which I liked. And the remake was much more faithful to the story that inspired it as well. So while it may be considered a remake, others might consider it an adaptation that is more faithful to the source material.

"Godzilla" has so much potential, and they keep trying, but they keep sucking.

The problem is they center the movie around a person and treat Godzilla as supporting character. Just "The monster" antagonist.

The movie should be about Godzilla, focused on Godzilla.

Ol' Zilla needs a love interest in the worst way. Those arms are way to short, if you know what I mean.

I thought the 2nd half of the recent remake with Bryan Cranston was a step in the right direction. The problem was the tease in the first half of the movie. It will be interesting to see what the do with Skull Island next year and then the Godzilla/King Kong crossover.

King Kong is in the same boat, but Ive always preferred Godzilla.

Regarding that new Kong movie, I have gripes. In the trailer, it looks like Kong is about the size of Godzilla. Meaning almost skyscraper big. Godzilla is aquatic. Theres enough sealife in the oceans for him to eat.

How and what does a Kong that big eat to survive daily?

I understand "suspension of disbelief", but some things are just too ridiculous to overlook. King Kong is not suppose to be that big.
