Yes. Is there another movie you're considering a remake of the original?
Well I'm pretty sure there is a porno titled an American Werewolf in Hilary. Does that count? ;)

King Kong is in the same boat, but Ive always preferred Godzilla.

Regarding that new Kong movie, I have gripes. In the trailer, it looks like Kong is about the size of Godzilla. Meaning almost skyscraper big. Godzilla is aquatic. Theres enough sealife in the oceans for him to eat.

How and what does a Kong that big eat to survive daily?

I understand "suspension of disbelief", but some things are just too ridiculous to overlook. King Kong is not suppose to be that big.
Kong was the same size as Godzilla in the Original KK vs Godzilla. Albeit a smaller G.

Kong has to be the size of Godzilla to setup the KK vs Godzilla movie. The connection of the two is through the Monarch org. Same with all of the monsters coming in Godzilla 2. My guess is that Monarch was toying around with various species and created the larger Kong. Maybe splicing gorilla dna with Godzilla.

In the Skull island trailers the cast is hiding in some large bones, so maybe there's other enlarged animals he's been eating.

Prove it. Compared to other remakes? Come on. You hate EVERYTHING, so this isn't a surprise.

Dude, that movie was ATROCIOUS, was a bomb and I'm had a 30% rating on rotten tomatoes.

My opinion aside, box office and tomatoe number look like proof of how bad it was.

By far the worst part of that movie was Neil Patrick Harris' final line after reading the mind of the bug. Add to that he was basically a Nazi and you have the ultimate in stupidity.

Chap... that was kind of the point of the movie. It was a political allegory to Nazi Germany and a wickedly gun satire, IMO.

Yeah, I know the Nazi Germany thing, but the movie did a terrible job of portraying that. It was horribly directed, acted and written, IMO of course. :)

Totally get your opinion. But why do you think it's atrocious? Box office means absolutely zero when it comes to quality (see: Shawshank Redemption).

I find your opinion much more reliable than basically anything from Rotten Tomatoes (with a few exceptions), so I'm more interested why you hate it. I will concede that the original was better, but the original was a completely different kind of movie.

I was just bored stiff watching it.

Battlefield Earth.

Read the book and was excited to see to see the movie. What a let down that was. Hated everything that they did with that movie. Terrible script. Travolta was embarrassingly bad. Weird shots. Confusing dialog. They totally butchered the book.

I think it the right hands this could be a good remake.

I have a million, but im having a hard time picking them out right now. Heres a few:

Neighbors 2 - There was soooo much ammo there to make a hilarious movie, and it was just bleh.

All Terminator movies after T2 - Trash, all of them. Terminator franchise deserves more respect.

Secret Life of Pets - Obviously goldmine subject, but a horrible, horrible movie. Total waste.

All the Jurassic Park sequels - All of them garbage.

The Dome - TV show based on the stephen king book. Great story, but the show just blew.

I don't think we're getting remakes of Neighbors 2, Secret Life of Pets, or the Jurassic Park sequels. If anything, they'll just make more of them.

I mean, a remake of Neighbors 2? Come on.

I know right? Why not just say to remake every movie you didn't like...

I would love a starship troopers remake...or just more of them...

excellent movie...purely the finest in camp propaganda films.....it was an instant cult classic for a reason....plus,...it blasted Dina Meyer on to the movie scene...wasn't her fault she was cast with Casper Van Deen. for a low budget movie the effects were awesome

Oaken, that's another great one. Though I loved Starship Troopers for the very same reasons, what made it awesome is how it twisted the book to its own purposes.

Man, agreeing about two remakes in one day? I feel dizzy :D
