To a drummer, anything under the highest challenge ranking possible would probably be boring.

Playing something exactly the way another drummer played it violates an unwritten rule among drummers. Even when I play covers I try to recreate the general affect, but I'm not going to sweat every single bass drum note and I'm certainly not going to play note-for-note fills unless it's absolutely necessary (i.e. the big tom fill in In the Air Tonight or some signature fill in a Rush song). In most cases what I play is more complicated than the original part ... studio drum parts are dumbed down so the masses can relate to the rhyhtm better ... live shows typically have the drummer playing something more ... involved.

So the game is not only a challenge to people who already drum, it's irritating because it demands perfect reproduction. I p*** on that mentality!

I played this game for the first time at a buddy's house, and wow, was it fun. I sucked at drums, and can't sing at all, but did solid on guitar.

I'm debating buying this for myself instead of Guitar Hero 3. I figure I'll mostly do guitar only, but I guess there is a chance I'd do the other stuff (or have friends over to do it too).

Just about everyone, (except music snobs :) ) seem to love this game when they pick it up and give it a try. I'm glad you like it.

I suck at anything over easy, but I did get 90s on drums and singing In Bloom at the same time, with the mike tucked between my shoulder and neck.

I suck on the guitar but am pretty good on the drums.

I started the hard campaign on the drums last night. I was getting my butt kicked on some notes that were blue/yellow, and then quickly to the kick drum. I thought for sure I was hitting it, but apparently I wasn't. I wasn't failing the song, but it was bringing me into the danger zone.

Overall, hard on the drums appears at least to me be harder than the guitar. I have to figure out some of the patterns first.

I was just at a friends house and played Rock Band. I sang most of the time and played the drums once. My highest score was 97% on a Beastie Boy's song.

That's what I was wondering. I can just imagine some Rock Band junkie lie my brother working my ass on drums in this game and talking smack. Of course they don't do that so much when I am on a real stage playing real drums :p in a real band.

Have fun! DCR & I (and my daughter) played for the better part of 5 hours yesterday without batting an eyelash...

Did my first couple of songs on hard guitar...got through both but wasn't impressive at all. Sliding down to the orange button is tougher than I thought

On that same note, a couple of days ago, I went up to expert on the guitar. I can pass all of the songs that I passed on hard, and still have problems with the same songs that I had on hard. (Suffragette City, Flirting with Disaster)

Still have problems with a few on medium(tried hard for fun)...for some reason Enter Sandman is extremely difficult for me on medium :(

Sandman is definitely one of the tougher songs for both instruments. Singing isn't all that hard though.

Agreed. Noting wrong with struggling on that song at all. One of the tougher on this game.

I tried a few on hard, as well. I highly doubt I will ever be able to be even proficient at it. I got through a couple, and failed out on the rest. :(

The combinations are getting easier, (green & yellow, or red & blue, etc) but that orange button is kicking my butt BIG time. That & it just goes too fast. My brain can't process it as fast as it comes at me.

I have, however, gotten through several songs singing on hard, so that's good, I guess.
