Look at the tapes. Nearly every time down the floor, someone challenged Yao.
BTW, Nash hasn't been the same since before the All-Star game. His D has been way below average. And, he's lost a step.

okay, I really was not going to say anything about the referees tonight, but I am going to answer this. The Phoenix Suns didn't go right at Yao Ming. They went right at the basket. Yao Ming just never came out of paint... at either end of the court. Mutombo did the same thing.
Furthermore, they should have gone at the basket and Yao Ming. It was the smart thing to do. Yao Ming had four fouls early and should have picked up his fifth early in the fourth quarter. Instead the referees blatantly protected the international superstar.
That said, I'm growing a little tired of Steve Nash's incessant whining to the referees. I think he's a great player. He's the MVP of the Phoenix Suns, no doubt. He complains to the referees after every single whistle though even when it is an obvious call.
If only Stephen Hunter could rebound. I honestly don't think Yao Ming scored against Hunter when he went at him one-on-one. I wish the Phoenix Suns would stop sending the double teams when Hunter is guarding somebody in the low post. He does not need it. It just opens up shots for other offensive players. Don't get me wrong. I can see the problems with Hunter. Like I said his rebounding is below average, and most of the time he's lost on offense.
I hope Shawn Marion can play Sunday.

sly fly said:Watch the game again, Joe. Amare had no respect for Yao's presence. None. And, he thought he could go right around him or through him. That didn't happen.
Amare displayed tunnel vision. And, that's fine. He'll learn from this.
Steven Nash does ned to quit his whining. If he spent his energy concentrating on his D, maybe he'd be tired too complain. That said, EVERY player in the league goes through a tired-leg stretch. It's good that he's getting it out of the way. All that rest will pay off down the road.
Houston played damn good. They should have. they've been in town since Wednesday soaking rays up by the pool.
Not the refs fault.
jbeecham said:Please........Houston averages 94.5 pts per game and I really don't think there's any way they put up 41 pts in the 4th qtr if the refs actually did their job. 41 pts is almost what they average for a half. Against the Suns they are going to score more points because they'll get more shots than in a slower paced game, but that 4th qtr was completely ridiculous with non-calls. Yao shouldn't even have been playing in the 4th qtr......at one point the refs called a foul on when Amare and Yao were the only 2 guys in the area and they called the foul on Tracy McGrady, but the problem was that T-Mac wasn't in the game so they changed it from 11 (Yao) to 1 (T-Mac) to #7.
The Suns weren't able to play offense with the hacking & hand-checking going on with no calls. They got called for a bunch of defensive fouls that didn't happen (like Yao being shoved to the ground by STEVE NASH!, but Yao isn't soft or anything). T-Mac was on fire despite good defense by JJ and that was legitimate. The Suns got great production from their bench and shot decently from 3pt land. Should the Suns only be allowed to shoot 3pt shots though? That's basically what some have said here........That Stoudemire shouldn't take the ball at Yao because the refs decided not to do their jobs so the Suns should be content to shoot jumpers and from 3pt.
Marion would've helped tonight, but the Suns had a lead going into the 4th qtr without him. Then the game went from being officiated poorly to being officiated horribly. Marion wouldn't have changed that, but he might have grabbed some rebounds and gotten some putbacks, although it would've been tough with Yao in the paint the entire game...........I think the refs called him for 3 seconds once........good job refs.
jbeecham said:Hey Cheese..........rather than just calling me a Kings fan, why don't you argue any of the points in my post? Why do fans simply have to accept crappy officiating and be ok with it to be a "good" fan in your eyes? I'm calling you REFFAN from now on.
cheesebeef said:good one - how about just GOOD SPORT instead being a baby like you constantly are after every single loss here. Honestly man, all you need to do is cut and paste your response in this thread after the game and post it for every loss - the song remains the same.
Yes - Jbeecham - I'm a REFFAN! Good one!
You're acting like a Kings fan and have done so all season long. The refs can't be singnlehandedly responsible for a 30 point turnaround - the very ide aof suich is ********.
Chaplin said:Geez, Cheese, why are you attacking so much lately?
cheesebeef said:LOL - like your one to ask that question Chap - i wasn't the one taking on an entire thread of people upset about Sarver's actions on the court. Knocking the referees and conspiracy theories are just a pet peeve of mine - it's a sign of weakness and I don't like to think our fans have that or stoop to the level of Kings fans and I've just seen that increasing by the day here and I won't sugar coat anything - it bothers me I also think it masks and shifts focus from what are the real problems on this team... in other words - excuses are for losers IMO. It's not attacking - it's simply stating my opinion.
Ouchie-Z-Clown said:no, gotta call you out on this one, bro. you stated your opinion in THIS post, but in the other one you clearly called jbeecham out.

cheesebeef said:and honestly - telling people they are "crying" about things and that a discussion is "worthless" and that Joe is being "arrogant" aren't attacking?
Chaplin said:Please, if you want to turn this into something personal, step up to the plate. I was merely making an observation. Personally, I don't care what you do, but outright calling someone a baby is an attack in my book. I know, I've been guilty of it in the past myself.
