I'm telling you guys, nothing is wrong with him. IMO you all are ridiculously over analyzing it and putting way too much weight in batting average. If he was hitting .290 but with a .330 batting average I suspect many of you would feel he was hitting really well when in fact those numbers are significantly worse than what he is currently doing.
Wow I'm so sorry that any of us had the audacity to disagree with you Phraz. Jeez guy.
It's funny that you keep talking like were such idiots and being so myopic, the only thing you are basing your "he's fine" argument on is OPS which is completely skewed by his walks right now.
How is he "fine?" If his stats continue at their current pace here is how he will wind up at the end of the season.
126 Hits
12 Doubles
162 Strikeouts
150 Walks
36 HRs
96 RBIs
Which one of those stats is getting him into the all star game? It's not ike we're all just morons and haters and Goldie is playing great. Meanwhile he continues to strike out a minimum of once a game, he's not getting singles or doubles, he's not driving in runs, but he's walking and hitting the occasional homerun and that means he's fine in your book. He looks nothing like his usual self except for getting walks.
I don't care what his batting average is I care about him getting hits that drive in runs, not just solo HRs and walks. That's not what we need from our GOLDY!!!!
Goldy 0 for 3 with two really bad K's... He looks soooo lost at the plate. He's killing us. Drury led off the 6th with a smash base hit and then Goldy goes down looking... Geeeeezzzz this is bad.
Not only that, he's consistently striking out in key RBI situations, which is the most out of character thing he's been doing. The Rockies finally figured out there is no need to walk him right now.
