You're right, but it is nice to not play to your potential and look up and see your only 1/2 game out of first. Beats the alternative if we were in the NL East or Central.

I think "potential" is a personal perspective term depending on what you predicted this team to win this season.

You predicted 93 wins, me 82.

Any team can easily tank or explode so being 7 games out or 0.5 games out in April is sorta meaningless.

The Dodgers and Giants are the only teams out of April in the NLW with a positive run differential. They are still most likely to finish 1 and 2 at the end of the year.

I will quote myself here, probably going to do it more than once this year too.

This team won't be bad, I just don't think it will be good.

I'm sure a lot of series will give us hope and a lot, like this one, will deflate us. Such is the story of an average team. We will see.
