I didn't catch all of it but there was a caller on NFL radio talking about what this means for betting line and sooner or later someone will accept a huge payoff and leak the covid list to a gambler before it's announced to the media. Payer can get his bets down before the team releases it. Ginormous implications for sports world. Says it's a matter of when, not if.

In theory all players are covid free at game time. With Omicron they need to change to a daily test for all players.

I thought I saw a stat somewhere that says up to 15-20% of players aren't vaccinated. If they were the spreaders to the rest of the team is what I was pondering...

94.6% of NFL is vaccinated.

Which again is why apparently the NFL is now seriously concerned that what Antonio Brown did, was done by multiple NFL players, the fake vaccine card

Because they are having a hard time believing so many vaccinated guys are getting sick.

wait... they're letting asymptomatic players PLAY? That makes ZERO sense. They can and will spread it to other people even if asymptomatic.

No they're not but many are playing because they're vaccinated and haven't been tested before the game. They get tested once a week so the odds are very high many will slip through if they have no symptoms.

Yes there’s this much of an outbreak amongst players that are all mostly vaccinated then how does that look for fans in the stands that are in close contact probably even more so than the players? Most sports should probably look at take another 2 to 3 week break and just extending the seasons. I mean isn’t the NBA having a similar break out?

The English Premier League (soccer for those that don't know) is considering doing a 'fire break' where they pause the season for a short period in order to try to get Covid back under control. They have had to cancel like 10+ games already this week/weekend.

NFL should strongly consider the same, even if that means we have have a late Feb or even March SuperBowl.

yep said it yesterday the NFL needs to strongly consider.

If asymptomatic can't play, they need to test every team completely and my guess is most teams are going to have double digits positive

that's why they don't want to test everyone they know if they have that many positive they have a huge problem

I just saw online that of the 3 teams they tested, the positivity rate was between 25 and 30 for all 3 teams. That means essentially every team has at least 10 guys who are likely positive and just asymptomatic

We will soon see if the theories about the spread coming from the facilities and not the field are true. Personally, I am skeptical.
It almost certainly started with Thanksgiving and get togethers with family and going out.

It is not going to get better soon. Has a "bubble" been discussed? Might be the only way to have it under control by end of season. Keep players as isolated as possible in hotels until time to travel to games.

Dr Reiner on CNN just said he seriously doubts the NFL will be able to complete the season if they don't take a pause. he said the 2 biggest issues are they didn't mandate either vaccine or booster so even with a "allegedly high vaccine rate" they don't know how many players are boostered, and "they are starting too late to take it seriously."

Christine Brennan said look the face of the NFL and Covid right now is Aaron Rodgers who lied about his vaccine status, too many NFL people didn't take this seriously.

There has to be some reason people keep bringing up the are they really vaccinated thing I almost think the NFL is trying to cover that up now because they don't want to pause the season.

The message the NFL sent with doing literally nothing to Rodgers said everything about what the league really cares about.
