Just a reminder that all this talk about Hudson is not from a single official source. I don't believe the Cardinals mentioned retirement, that all came from Chuck Harris saying "From what I hear..."

I could be just as simple has him recently having a new kid and not wanting to leave his family for a 3 day mandatory camp. In his situation I might swallow the 50k fine like it was pocket change too.

I'd wager it's more likely that's all it was. He's had several weeks to contemplate retirement and hasn't announced anything, if you're retiring it doesn't take this long. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him there on day 1 of camp.
I don't know that the scenario you describe fits the "we are working through" comment by Kliff. I could of course be wrong.

It's a very generic term.

"We're working through something" could be as simple as him not wanting to travel from Vegas without his family for a 3 day camp. Could be a mental health issue. My point was we don't know and as far as I know the whole retirement thing came from a single tweet by Chuck Harris (and speculation from Johnny Venerable) who most of this board have said doesn't know anything in the past.

Justin Pugh isn't taking snaps at center because of a tweet from Chuck Harris, my guy.

What a weird take.

OJ didn't do it because he was found not guilty right? DeSean Watson did nothing wrong either?

Sure. But Hudson retirement or not he was taking snaps at center because we let Garcia go and the only other C on the roster with Hudson not there is Harlow. We need someone to line up at center in drills right?

Who's going to admit publicly that your best offensive player isn't committed to this team right now and wants to retire?

I'm sure you have heard of coachspeak right?

I do have to commend you at how hard you try sometimes...

What a weird reply. How are either of those things remotely comparable to 20 pages of speculation based off a single tweet from a minor local reporter?

There's been no report from anyone like Schefter or Rapaport. All of this is based on Johnny Venerable speculating "Maybe he's considering retiring" and Chuck Harries saying "I hear Hudson is considering retirement".

I'd counter with this. It's been a month since mandatory camp. Obviously Hudson if Hudson was considering retirement or going to retire he's been thinking about it before then. Another 5 weeks have gone by. Why hasn't he announced anything? How long does it take to decide?

Try what? Counter the constant stream of negative made up BS from people on this board? Apply logic to my thought process?

There were 2 practice sessions in mandatory camp, you can't practice with 15 OL and only 1 center. You need at least 3. I believe they always intended for for Smith to add C to his repertoire but without Hudson they needed another. Pugh indicated it wasn't planned, that it came about when Hudson didn't turn up at camp but that he's open to it to try to prolong his career.

Had we a 3rd C on the roster I doubt very much Pugh would have been asked to try.

The point is the "your best offensive player isn't committed to this team right now and wants to retire" part is completely made up.

The coach speak could literally be anything. He would say exactly the same thing if Rodney was going through a mental health issue or if he wanted to stay round his family a bit more.

We KNOW absolutely nothing and people have turned that into nonsense like you just spouted above about him not being committed and wanting to retire. It's all speculation based on a single tweet from a nobody.

Kingsbury himself said the 'sides are working through something.'

Beachum said about Hudson, 'He just had a son not too long ago. (He) has a young daughter, so I know he's putting family first as any father would and I know the rest will be handled between him and the organization. Know that he's in good spirits and excited to see what comes from it over the next couple of weeks."

It appears that some of us can read between the lines.

I mean, if anything Beachum's quote makes it seem even more like he just wanted to spend more time with his newborn and family.

You're not reading between any lines. You have a narrative and are reading what you want to read.

No. He's been living away from him family who I believe stayed in the Vegas area. He will be away from them for much of the time when camp starts. I don;t blame him for not wanting to break up the time he does have for a fairly pointless 3 days mini camp for a 34 year old vet.

When you have kids you don't decide you want to make less money. You want to provide the best for them. If I'm Hudson I'd blow off camp too, but I'd also get paid the next 2 years I have remaining on my deal.

Where's the report about him wanting to make less money?

Are you trying to say that people don't retire when they have kids because they want to keep making money?

What are you trying to say here?

It's just your opinion? Yet you are so SURE about it that you made two personal attacks on me for having my own? Sure DC.

You have decided this is what is happening with no evidence.
Two personal attacks? If someone challenging your opinion is a personal attack, you must feel attacked quite often.

I have decided with educated guesses. Not irrefutable evidence mind you, but logic and a bit of common sense.

Nothing is going on with Hudson, we don't need to replace the best pass rusher in franchise history, Josh Jones is going to magically figure out how to play OG and Keim is going to kill it in the 8th wave of free agency. Everything is fine!!!
