After working out with the Jazz, he received a great deal of praise from Karl Malone.

In a league desperate for big men, I'd be shocked if he lasted to 21. If this the guy they want then they may have to trade up to get him

Honestly, aside from the goaltending, he didn't look as raw as I expected

If you're talking about that play where he dunked the ball while it was on the rim that isn't a goaltend in his league.

The rumor is the Suns would need to move ahead of Chicago to draft him. I personally still like the other boom or bust guy in Rodriguez, but I can see the buzz around Sene.

According to Hoopshype the Suns worked him out next to Cedric Simmons (who DraftExpress says is a good physical specimen with some hops), can we guess that Sene did well against an NBA type physical competitor (obviously not Shaq but who is)?

Also do we have any trade bait that the teams in the teens need besides both our picks? [PLEASE don't make this a trade Marion thread.] Would Jones be of benefit to the Sixers Jazz Hornets or Bulls? Just looked over the rosters and SF is not a big need for any of those teams... Darn. I really hoped we'd get 2 first round picks. Sene and Farmar was my ideal draft for the future of the team. Though I think if I were drafting for immediate impact I'd go with trading into the late teens to get Sefolosha. I think he'd be good out of the box. Only Aldridge if he fell past the top 4 like lots are predicting he will. Ah draft excitement. Personified by the Senes of the world.

After we draft this kid (I have a feeling it will happen) I want him to hang out with Amare every single day on the court.

These two could be a monstrous duo.

If Amare keeps working on his defense, it would be hard as hell for other teams to score in the paint on us.

He is very very raw, but I love his hustle. Did you see him dive for those loose balls? Not many 7 footers are willing to dive like that. For some reason, I think he is just a smokescreen though. If they draft him, there is no way he can help next season and Mike D has stated that they want someone that can come in and help.

Carney and Thabo IMO can do that right away. Im all for drafting Carney or Thabo, but if they arent available then I guess we can go with Sene.

He can help right away, maybe not big minutes but he can get playing time on a team with only two legit bigmen.(And Kurt Thomas will be gone within a year or two)

He would be the only true shotblocker on our team, and you have to think D'Antoni can find him some minutes to use that skill until he fully matures and has a complete understanding of how to play the game.

Not to mention that with his ridiculous reach he should beable to kill the boards when hes in the game.

In that Nike Hoop Summit video he looks like a man against boys when jumping for rebounds, and this was against some legit sized forwards and centers.

His only problem would be his offense, but anything we can get from him on Offense would just be a bonus until he learns a few things from the coaching staff and Amare.

Even if hes not with the Suns, i really want to follow this guys career and see how he looks after hitting the weight room and having a real coaching staff work with him.

I dont really think he would be able to help in an NBA game yet. Yes he has crazy physical attributes, but even below average forwards/centers in the league can offset them by playing smart. It is unreasonable to expect someone who has been only playing basketball for 2/3 years to be able to produce in the best league on earth.

Jazz Article on Sene

http://story.utahindependent.com/p.x/ct/9/id/a1ecfdde1cf511be/cid/bcecd7f88c90b7a3/

Seems like they may be willing to use the 14th pick on him.

I really hope they pass on him, cause with his size and quickness hes going to be the best shotblocker in the NBA as he gets used to his body and the NBA.

in 5 years when he turns 24 years old, i can see him averaging 10ppg/12rpg/4bpg.

Whatever team that gets him just needs to teach him how to use his body and athletic ability to dominate games on defense.Cause if the teaching is there he will learn, cause all the reports say that he has a Amare like work ethic.

Could be another Dikembe Mutombo when all is said and done.

The Jazz fans would crucify them for picking Sene. They have NO shooting and must get a great/good shooting guard in this draft if they want to be good any time soon.

if anyone we draft this year is playing for us in the wcf, i'd say we're in trouble anyways. therefore, if a guy like sene is available, i say take him, cause even if you waste the pick, its not like you sunk your franchise. if carney turns out to be decent, he's still not playing when the marbles are on the line, so why not go with the player that could really do something for you in the long run?

i say find a way to get hilton armstrong, sene, or kyle lowry in this draft, or get out of it entirely.

I wouldnt say we are in trouble if we have a rookie playing. Didnt the spurs play Udrih his rookie year and they got pretty far. At this point I could care less for gems. I just want someone that can contribute in case of an injury. On our team if you can run and shoot a jumpshot with good accuracy you can contribute.

Same exact thing could be said about Amare.

Don't forget that Amare only played organized basketball for 3 years before he was drafted. And that wasn't even with one highschool.

He can learn the game while he plays it like Amare had to do, but until then he can get by on just being a great athlete with great size.

Hell half of the NBA players these days don't play with any kind of fundamentals.

How long have we been calling for Suns players to box out their man in the paint?

In the Suns.com video D'A clearly states something like "whoever we get is just gonna sit on the bench anyways right?" I really think D'A is willing to gamble.

Come on man. Please dont compare the two. Look at Amare's high school videos and then compare them with this 8 minute segment. And who says that this guy boxes out? He grabs rebounds because he is sooo much bigger than everyone else.

I guess I am just very sceptical of anyone that makes a big splash at the last minute just because he is huge and runs like a deer. I remember how people were comparing Badiane to Amare and how he was the next big thing blah blah blah... I certainly wouldnt mind if the suns drafted this guy, I just personally would rather have someone that is a little more ready to play. That said, I have learned in recent years to trust them when it comes to the draft.

On the radio he stated that they were looking for someone that could contribute. I guess we will find out in 7 days.
