They just said on the Suns pre-game that its Quentin Ross that they are working on.

I have watched a few Clipper games, I remember Ross as a very nice defender. But I don't think he can shoot. Maybe money still matters moster.

First, why would the Sonics waive Barry? Pay him the 2M salary left for the season and get nothing back?

Second, according to recent incident on Stackhouse, the league will definitely look into this and prevent a pre-arranged deal.

They negotiate a buyout and pay less the full salary with the player expecting to get a contract somewhere else.

None of those guys mentioned are worth the Atlanta pick IMO. If Sarver does this it's probably more because he doesn't want to pay big bucks to a lottery pick player in next years draft.

This conversation about the 13th player is great and all, but in all reality, who really thinks that 13th player will get any playing time?

Anyone mentioned so far would be in a 10 man rotation if not in the 8-man one assuming Skinner not seeing much time after the Shaq trade.

According to our current main rotation, this new guy will replace DJ. Strawberry to be a backup guard. He'll probably get about 10 mpg.

The only thing I don't like about Ross is that if him and Shaq are on the floor at the same time it's an automatic double on Shaq. He just doesn't have the consistency from outside to make anyone pay for doing so.

So does this make it 2 out of 3 for that realGm insider guy? The one who broke the Shaq and Bibby deals?

U have a very good point. But I don't think we r planning to play Shaq a lot in second unit. Most of time when Shaq is on floor, we shall be in full strength, trying to make a run.

The new guy is just to cover 10 minutes when Nash and Bell both need rest, we'll probably go small and run, Barbosa at the point.

I don't want a defender unless they can sit at the three point line and hit some open threes.

wasn't majerle 13th?
Majerle was the 14th overall pick in the 1988 draft. He was the Suns 2nd pick in the first round that year. They took Tim Perry with the #7. Incidently, Steve Kerr was picked in the 2nd round at #50 overall by the Suns in that same draft.

Marrion and Stoudemire are the only players drafted with the 9th overall pick in team history. However, Majerle wore #9 for what it's worth.

Both of those guys would help us EXTREMELY. Either we have a GREAT tall threat at the three (how is his defense) or an amazing defensive big man who can shut down most in the NBA.

artest is not a big man, he's a small forward perimeter defender. miller plays decent defense.

I was checking tonight's boxscore for the nba.... and I noticed that Mike Miller has not played tonight for Memphis. I know it doesn't mean much, but if a player is going to be traded, isn't that one of the first signs??

food for thought.....nothing more than that.

Look at the players the Suns are being linked to trade wise.....

Ron Artest...............Played tonight for Kings
Quinton Ross...........Played tonight for Clippers
Yakhouba Diawara...Team didn't play tonight
Mickael Gelabale......Team didn't play tonight
Mickael Pietrus.........Played tonight for Warriors
Mike Miller ..............DNP in game tonight

If they're working a deal with several teams, then they are either not close or half these players aren't involved in serious or detailed talks with the Suns. Hopefully the Suns will get a deal done and we'll here more in the morning.

Hate to bring this up.

A girl I know is dating one of the Spurs FO guys.

I spoke to her tonight--said Pop pushed for Ron Artest very much--but had two plans. If plan A gets misdirected, he would take the first plan to get KT.

And then begin trying to use Plan B to get Artest

Pop tried to sell the Artest trade for BB, Fran Elson, etc,

This would not satisfy Presti.

Pop pulls the trigger on first option rejected for Artest and applied it to KT

Is pulling out option B to try to get Ron Artest.

It would probably fail.

But the Artest to SA is not officially dead as of yet.

I have no idea what parts could be used to get Ron Artest.

Still--we have one more day to ponder whether Ron has to used to Margaritas and Mexican food.

That's a valid point; Ross, from what I remember, shot the mid range jumper pretty decent when wide open. I'm pretty sure he can get some open looks on this team...

To be honest, I'd be perfectly happy with any of Miller, Artest or Ross, in order of preference.

Miller's a gamer. He's a decent rebounder for his size and moves the ball well too. I'd be ecstatic if we got him but I'm guessing that is probably the least likely of all the possibilities.
