Do you think this takes our re-signing of Early Doucet off the front page of the sports section?

As a leader of his players and coaches sean payton's actions(or lack thereof) cannot be defended. and then beyond that blocking the investigation doesn't help his cause. It's almost like running from the cop when he pulls you over, you just make yourself look worse and add more punishment.

I think the punishment is harsh and the sad thing is it really sucks for the saints fans and players that had nothing to do with it. But the NFL has to protect itself and distance itself from this behavior just as sean payton should have long before. If goodell lets him off easy it does nothing to deter anyone else from doing this because you know the saints are not the only ones doing bounties behind the scenes.

It is about time good sportsmanship reared its saintly head. If is not good enough sportsmanship for Pop WarnerFootball it is not good enough for the NFL! Tell DD I'm glad Arizona Cardinal fans don't act more like stupid Niner fans.

Hail Arizona Cardinals, crimson and white,
We'll back you ever, down the field we'll fight.
We'll whip the Green Bay Packers, Rams and the Bears,
We'll take Detroit and Pittsburgh, and do it fair and square. Hail Arizona Cardinals, crimson and white,
Down the field we'll fight, fight, fight.

It really makes you wonder. Especially about inter-division games. I'm sure it happens more than we'd believe.

If the NFL really wanted to punish the franchise, they would go the college route and make them ineligible for the post-season. That might get some attention. As it is, they should still make the playoffs and it's always anybody's game after that.

The Saints winning the Superbowl this year (in their own house) would be a huge F-U to the league.

Pretty impressed, this proves the NFL as an organization and the enforcement of their beliefs (whether you agree with them or not) is not just lip service.

Wish our government ran the same way:)

yeah I'm sure the players do it or something like it. maybe not for injuries, but for big hits or tackles. it is kind of traditional to do this. I don't have a problem with the players doing it behind the scenes, but the coaches shouldn't be doing what the saints did. and I think now all of the players have to think twice before doing it too now that they see this punishment.

The players don't know what kind of punishment that they are facing. The investigation into their involvement is just beginning. I am sure that there will be some hefty penalties where they are involved also.

Not as hefty as the coaches I would expect. The NFLPA will go to bat for the players and defer blame to the coaches.

^^ great cartoon.

I still remember the hits that Warner was taking to the head in that game and how upset I was.

I nearly broke my TV that day! I think Warner was hit in the head blatantly 5 times & only 1 time the Taints were penalized. I told my buddy that day & joked they had a bounty out on him & were trying to get him out of the game...not funny what I know now

Audio leaked from a pregame speech before the playoff game against the 49ers from Gregg Williams to his defense.

*Explicit Language*

This should really help Sean Payton's appeal process to the commissioner today :sarcasm:

Greg Williams is done. This audio is all anyone's talking about on sports radio this morning. Especially the part about testing #10's concussion by hitting him some more in the head. Not gonna go over well.
