What's funny now is that Saints players and fans are mad at the film maker for leaking this audio onto the Internet. They're still focusing on the "snitching" instead of the real villain here.

He's done! After hearing the first part of that video I felt nauseous and I hate the Niners. :barf:

I know. What a joke. If Williams, Payton and Loomis had acted like adults in the first place they wouldn't be in this mess. Much easier to blame the messenger.

Payton may as well cancel his appeal. No way will his or Loomis's suspensions be reduced. They're lucky they aren't longer.

I thought williams would come back in one to two years until I heard this audio. Hes done. Hope he saved and invested wisely.

I hope he didn't. Hope he has to dumpster dive just to eat.

When the punishments were first handed down, they were in excess of anything that the pundits had speculated about. I think we now know why. The NFL had to have had this recording, or something similarly damning that the rest of us just didn't know about at the time.

And keep in mind, this recording took place after the NFL had notified the Saints that they were reopening the investigation.

Not necessarily! They aren't commenting on it. They told the Saints to stop, the Saints said OK, then went right on doing it, then lied about it. This situation just went nuclear.

I wonder how different it is from what is normally said by DC's before games.
That being said, there was an investigation open at the time that the Saints knew about. Williams had to know the filmmaker was there.
He was either incredibly stupid or incredibly arrogant.

I would love to hear what was said before our playoff game with them. He should be tied to a pole and beaten in the head with a baseball bat. To the head. To the head. Turn his head sideways. What a tool!

Wow the repeated saying of ATTACK THE HEAD! Is downright disgusting.

That and rubbing his fingers together while telling his players to go ahead and get fined and saying, "I got your first," meaning he was going to pay whatever fines they accrued for illegal hits.

I'm not even sure I'd want to know. Just imagine if instead of saying about Frank Gore, "Turn his head sidewise," if he were saying that about Fitz. Or when he was talking about hitting the concussed guy at the bottom of piles, to get hits in to the head, imagine if he were saying that about Fitz. People would go insane.

Gregg Williams won't be unemployed long. Organized crime is always looking for people to collect for their loan sharks. After listening to that audio, he won't even need to fill out a resume, they'll call him.

He's pretty good at ordering the hits, but I don't think he'd have the guts to carry them out himself...

I'm pretty sure I know what it was, "Bring me the helmet of #13 with his head inside & you have $10 grand". Bobby McCray succeeded as Kurt's helmet flew across Superdome turf & Kurt's career along with it. It was a legal hit but a dirty hit still IMO.

I remember when this suspension was handed out the people on Sirius NFL radio were critiquing the punishment of Williams and Payton calling it "too harsh". Most notably Pat Kirwan and Tim Ryan, both of whom I like. Today they were a little more subdued. They even had Joe Horn on who blasted Goodell, saying what an awful commishioner he is. Goodell must have known about this audio for quite some time in used this while weighing his punishment options. In light of this new audio though I really think Payton and Loomis got off light and must be thanking their lucky stars they did not receive a bigger punishment. Teams are going to be coming after the Saints this year. Hard. They better be ready for it, but you reap what you sow.

The NFL should make the Saints use whoever is on the staff right now to coach the team. They should not be able to bring in another head coach.

What good does the punishment do if they allow this?

Meh, i thought it was worse. This type of talk happens in every locker room to get guys pumped up.

(if he hadn't retired,) would John Henderson have gotten suspended for wanting to "make blood come out they mouth?"

No. There's a reason the cameras dont show everything.

I highly highly doubt that talk like that from a coach occurs all the time. Especially the repeated references to go after the head etc..

I agree. There was a time that it was probably routine but I think this is fairly uncommon today. I'm sure they still talk about the big hit and even if they are trying to extol the players to play the same way this game has been played forever, they damned well know better than to put the words together in this manner. Too much player movement, too much scrutiny, too many cameras and too many microphones to think you can talk like this and keep it behind doors in today's world.

Media is selling overreacting kool aid and everyone's drinking it.

Record everything that the players/coaches say in the locker room and there wouldn't be a league.
