I'm still intrigued to see what happens when Alomar is reactivated....

They obviously must keep Hairston in as the everyday 2B, so I hope that Alomar will accept being used in a utility role...

Who is going to be our 5th starter? Good? Give Dessens another shot?
I would say Good

Johnson
Webb
Sparks
Fossom
Good

Also, I believe I heard on the Arizona Sports Report that Brandon Lyon is going to be starting his rehab stint in AAA at the end of June.....

Caught the last inning and the Diamondbacks win!!! Valverde looked sharpe and Gonzo came thru. I liked the hustle of Hairston. Brenly can't sit him when Alomar comes back. Need to play for the future. Maybe a team will want Alomar.

I wouldnt be shocked if Steve Randolph will finally get an opportunity to start...Especially since Nance is another LH option out of the BP....

Casey Daigle should have started the season in AAA, he didn't show me anything in Spring Training.....

Actually I take that back, there wasn't too many other options

I was at the game today - I was happy they won. I got a little nervous when Good came in to pitch and hit the guy then threw a wild one.

Good one win though. Maybe this can cause some positive momentum for once.

I was there last night, too. Great to finally see them come back and win one. BTW, that was Koplove, not Good.

Woo hoo! The Dbacks start off the 2nd inning with 3 straight hits and take a 1-0 lead and still have nobody out

Nice to see the offense getting runs and the pitching not allowing any....knock on wood

5-0 Diamondbacks. Hammock on a roll. It's the beginning of June, can last year's magic happen again this June?

CRAP! The Big Unit has suddenly lost it by giving up 4 runs and the lead is now cut to 5-4 ... oh and Barry Bonds is up to bat

Shea hits a 2-run homer to make it 7-4. Randy has some breathing room.

Rand Johnson is done for the day after the 5th inning. Interesting decision by Brenly.

I have to say I can't blame him for it though

I can't figure out Brenly removing Johnson after just 5 innings.....The BP is depleted beyond belief, and Johnson is the only pitcher who has been able to give them quality starts on a consistent basis.....

He wasn't today ... his pitch count was getting high in a hurry and he was having a difficult time finding the strike zone.

He was also stretching out his back last inning.

He probably could have lasted at least one more inning..... Anything but continue to over-extend Koplove (who might have to pitch 2-innings)....If Brenly believes it's mental lapses that's affecting Koplove (trying to give him more confidence)..he's absolutely wrong.....Just hope Koplove makes these innings brief....That everyone else in this decimated BP can actually pitch w/out their arms being blown off completely....

Okay....Koplove proved me wrong there....I guess Im concerned more because Webb is scheduled to start tomorrow (he's been subpar as of late) followed by Fossum and undecided for Saturday's game...If they elect to start someone on Saturday who hasnt all season long, he'd be on a strict pitch count..... Oh well, just hope it all sorts out in "our" favor.....

Scott Hairston looks to be the real deal. This guy needs to play even when Alomar returns.

Diamondbacks win 8-6!!! Valverde comes in and gets the save. He even retired Barry Bonds. The bats are alive. Shea with a big game. The Diamondbacks take the series and now bring on the Dodgers.

My goal tonight was to write nothing but positive things about the D'Backs....um, I guess our uniforms look sharp. Two hits, two walks, IBB to Bonds, wild pitch (run scoring), error by Hillenbrand (two-run error), and we still have only one out in the 1st. Randolph is already warming up.

Make it two outs, another run scored on a sac fly. 4-0 Gnats in the 1st.
