Been a month now, the self imposed break from discussing Ayton and his play was quite calming lol. Digging the ball he's playing rn, big fish in a smaller pond mixed with some national pride might be exactly what he needed. If he comes back different and to a different environment who knows, might maybe see some domination. Not pulling the jersey out of the closet just yet tho, although it probably needs to be washed

Tip, don’t waste the wash cycle:)

I've been watching some of the FIBA games and video clips. Sometimes Ayton has a tendency to watch along the baseline and get pushed out-of-bounds, like he did against Argentina.

Might just be a clear out or some Monty flashbacks for him

I noticed the same thing on this play. He needs to learn to fight to get around that. Throw the defender off him if he has to. Just keep moving and don't give up.

Just stay away from the baseline, Deandre. It makes it too easy for the defender.

The Suns need to get him one of those shock collars and build one of those invisible fences along the baseline that gives him a jolt whenever he starts to wander. Someone else will need to take over inbounding the ball after baskets.

Did anyone see the video of Ayton..."the best teammate i've ever been around on and off the court".

I'm trying to like and root for the guy but man...either he's stupid or delusional.

Don't read anything into it.
This is correct. I think the time is over to read anything into Ayton says at this point. Talk is cheap. His game on the court will either speak for itself or it won’t.

What’s he supposed to say?

I swear to god this guy says anything and he’s stupid and delusional on this board.

It's a dumb comment. He could have said, "I've enjoyed being with him immensely, one of the best teammates I've ever been around" and the comment would have been well received. Saying it as he did doesn't bother me as long as it doesn't bother his current teammates but I think more than one is going to find it petty and likely to take issue with him because of it.

It wasn't one guy, specifically, as you stated it. Ayton said ""The best teammates I've ever been around on and off the court." about his Bahamian teammates. It's not just Suns fans reading into either but the media has ran with it some, see this headline....

"The best teammates I've ever been around" - Deandre Ayton takes a slight dig at Suns while praising Bahamas team

Ayton also dropped a Monty quote, which is a head scratcher considering the narrative that's been pushed that they despise each other.

I think it's clear Ayton doesn't think before he talks. If he does he wouldn't continue to stick his foot in his mouth at this point.

Oh yeah I can totally see his Suns teammates getting all bent up emotionally about this. Gonna cause hella drama lol

I swear to god, Ayton does something questionable and here you come to his defense to tell everyone it's not a big deal. If it weren't questionable then you wouldn't have jumped to his defense. I mean, you haven't posted much except to say Embiid has underachieved which is rich coming from Ayton's biggest supporter. The way you excuse all of Ayton's shortcomings and questionable behavior is really something else. It's bordering on Andrew/Shaq levels at this point.

To be fair, this is as much a nothingburger as anything. The fact that several posts have been devoted to it (including my own) is ridiculous.

Ayton has been throwing shade all summer. He also posted something on Instagram a day or two back about how "success hits different when nobody believed in you". That and the teammate quote are implying something. He's been salty for a bit now and when nothing else is going on, Suns fans hear what he's saying.
