Sources have said Shumur wants Giants job. I say we go After someone else. But we need Fitzgerald on board.

If this team signs Munchack, ugh. For starters, I'm tired of hiring one former Stealer after another and also, there's nothing about his previous coaching stint that would be cause for excitement.

Fitz should have no input on next HC. I hope he likes what the next HC offers and returns. Tired of the retirement talks the past few seasons.

Our coach will be around possibly 5+ years. I'd be more worried about the overall team than Fitz if I was running the show.

I understand your guys opinions. But man I'm not ready to lose Fitz. I'm not ready to start completely over.

Fitz has already said the coach has no bearing on when he hangs it up. It all depends on if he feels he can continue to play at a high level... we still have Larry for a couple more years.

Who was Ben's big time RB when they beat us?
Who was Brees' big time RB when he won a SB?(their defense was average as well)

Willie Parker had 19 carries to bens 30 throws
Edge had 9 carries after getting reinstalled as the starter and leading cards through playoffs to our only SB. We were destroyed epically when Edge was on the bench.

2009 same poo with beanie - tht started saints game with 80 yard TD - backs had 10 carries total in the game - stupidest crap I ever seen.

I have no interest in losing fitz but you cannot make decisions based on fear. Fitz will come back or he will retire #3 in the record books.

He did come out and say the other day he is waiting to see who will be the coach

You do realize the steelers were down by a lot of points for most the game and HAD to pass to catch up?

While nothing's official, the NYC media flooded the news channels with reports that a Giants - Shurmer hookup was a done deal.

Where does that leave the Cardinals? Your guess is as good as mine. Looks like Wilkes is still in play. Vrabel could be. Munchack and Bettcher remain possibilities. I can't not believe that at least one candidate not yet considered might appear on the horizon - a college coach like Shaw. A QB whisperer out of a college or pro pgm.

Leads me to wonder whether the prediction game isn't a huge wheel spin and that we'd be well-advised to take a deep breath and focus on how the D-Backs or Devs are doing.

PS Have to admit that Card fans are justified in feeling their team has been a wee bit disrespected (Coaching environment, roster, fan-base, lifestyle and ownership is underrated). Just hope that MB and SK don't let this interfere with sticking with principles underlying their search process.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned the other day that Patriots linebackers coach Brian Flores impressed in his interview, too, and that makes sense. Some in New England believe that Flores has a chance to wind up being the best eventual head coach to go through Bill Belichick’s program.

now that would be unexpected, but would match Keim prediliction to go for projections on the hope of hitting it big

I’m thinking they are waiting to interview someone other than Shurmur this weekend. I doubt Keim thinks he can get him at this point and they must like someone ahead of Wilks otherwise they would offer him the job right now. I just hope Keim knows what he is doing because there are still 4 openings and other teams may not be willing to wait like ARZ. Of course with all that said watch ARZ have a hand shake deal with Shurmur thus no word or panic scuttlebutt being leaked.

Uh we have no QB or coach. I think this is the very definition of starting over. Time to wake up and face reality.

Beanie didn't have that 70 yard run, Hightower did. Also, in your warped mind in a game where we were down 35-14 at halftime we could have kept running the ball? And finally, we were not destroyed in the Super Bowl. We had the Fing lead with 2 minutes to play. Had our defense done it's job would you still be whining about running the ball? Again, this isn't 1950 anymore. Oh, and back to that divisional playoff against New Orleans, take away that 70 yard run and this is what our rushing game looked like on that day:

Hightower-5 carries for 17 yards
Wells-5 carries for 7 yards
Stephens-Howlings-2 carries for 4 yards
Wright-1 carry for 3 yards

In case your math is shaky, that's 13 carries for a whopping 31 yards so please tell me where running the ball more would have made a difference.

As for Fitz, he will play as long as he can at a high level. The way he has mastered the slot WR role under BA, this could be for more years than we could imagine. Obviously if the new HC says he doesn't need him or he won't use him very much, then he will hang it up. Very unlikely though. Just wanting to point out the reason he's waiting for our new HC to announce his decision.

Saw an ESPN article that mentioned NFL Network is reporting that Shurmur is expected to coach the Giants after this season.

The dominoes still have to fall, but if Patricia goes to Detroit, Shurmur to the Giants, McDaniels to the Colts, and Nagy to the Bears, it really wouldn't look like the league views the Cardinals as a top opportunity.

I know probably we arent atteactive as others but we have a solid organization and a friendly environment to make an outsider coach succesfull
