The Lakers are mentioned in all these trade ideas. What do they have to offer?

I think the media plays a large role.

It looks like there is growing interest in Jalen Smith from other teams and he could be traded around December 15th.

BY KEVIN ZIMMERMAN Arizona Sports:

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported Monday that the expectation from some teams in the league is that the Phoenix Suns could be in on the action despite their 21-4 record heading into a Monday game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Despite declining his third-year option, the Suns have had interest generate in talks to move center Jalen Smith, sources said. But interested teams expect a potential move for Smith as the Dec. 15 date — when most offseason signings can be traded — nears.

Also this from the same article:

Charania’s notebook also included another Suns-centric tidbit: Phoenix is among the teams that has shown interest in Indiana Pacers All-Star big man Domantas Sabonis over “recent years.”

Man... if Stix could even just be below average from 3 instead of God-awful, he could actually be a piece on this squad.

Teams are interested in Jerami Grant.

I don't know if the Suns could swing it, but he is the type player that would help the team.

I guess I like former Nuggets players.

I think a key piece of the team would have to go to get Grant. Like a Jae/Cam Johnson and a pick kinda deal. Even then I don’t think the money matches.

Personally I think the Suns gave up on Stix too soon.

JMHO, I would have let him play as a reserve center and gradually moved him to power forward.

Although it doesn't show, he is a good outside shooter. He just needs playing time and to get comfortable with the role. He may well be a player like Christian Wood.

No. You can’t say he’s a good outside shooter when he has NEVER shown any ability to shoot from the outside.

A good rebounder and energy guy? That you can say but to say he’s a good outside shooter right now is based on absolutely zero evidence on the court.

I'm going from Smith's college days. Jalen Smith is still raw.

The first thing I noticed about him is his skills. I've watched a lot of video.

He can shoot, rebound and block shots but he is young without much NBA experience. Also he is a center right now and the Suns have mostly played him at power forward.

This is his college stats from his 2nd year.

Grant isn’t anything special at all he’s a role player himself. I wouldn’t break up team chemistry for a role player

He is a little bit like Bobby Portis in that respect.

Right... you’re going from a completely different game, against inferior players AND the NBA 3 is further than college three. He’s been in the NBA three years and his 3 point shot is not only bad, but they aren’t CLOSE.

He’s not a good shooter in the NBA. Arguing otherwise is quite frankly ridiculous.

Your having a fixed opinion about a 21 year old player is amusing too.

Grant is one of those special players that can guard most 1-5, almost. Can score, also a decent 3pt shooter.

Edit: I'd take him over Crowder any day. Crowder is on a friendly contract though, good teammate and makes clutch plays - some intangibles that dont reflect his salary.

This is what I see in him as well. He is can do just about everything like Bridges.

This is his second year in the NBA. He was a rookie last year. Had the Suns given up on him after 2 years, fine, but declining his 3rd year option before his second season was premature.

it's not a fixced opinion. it's a factual one about who the player is. the game and three point line in the NBA is different in college and Stix hasn't come CLOSE to showing he can shoot at this level. until he actually, you know.. SHOWS HE CAN SHOOT IN THE NBA, it's ludicrous to say he's a good shooter. there's literally nothing to back up your opinion.

you're right. 2nd year in a row he's shown zero ability to shoot the ball from 3.

that said, I'm not crazy about them giving up on him so early either, but it's not because I think he magically is a good shooter who just can't come close to hitting the broadside of a barn so far in the NBA.

Package Stix, Crowder, Saric and Cam J with picks for Sabonis. It will mess up the chemistry we have but we’re not beating GS in six games with Klay and Wiseman coming back.

You are so hung up on shooting percentage you are missing the forest for the tree.

Again, you are basing this on the performance of a 21 year old player who has only played in 35 games and averaged 6.1 minutes.

It's simply not a large enough sample size to project what he is going to do down the road.

I think Sabonis and Ayton together would really screw up our offensive system. The paint would be clogged, all this cutting and slashing wouldn't work, we would have to grind out points in the half court. Paul and Booker's mid range game would now be require them to deal with a lot of traffic.

I like Sabonis, but it isn't the 90s, you need spacing.

I am basing it on FACTS. WHAT WE HAVE ACTUALLY SEEN ON THE FLOOR.

Good lord. You are basing your opinion on literally NOTHING at the NBA level.

And there is NO WHERE that I've said anything about him down the road. I'm talking about what he is RIGHT NOW. And right now he's a TERRIBLE SHOOTER and he's shown ZERO ability to get better over the two years he's been in the league.

stop changing my position because yours is ludicrous.
