I think Sabonis and Ayton together would really screw up our offensive system. The paint would be clogged, all this cutting and slashing wouldn't work, we would have to grind out points in the half court. Paul and Booker's mid range game would now be require them to deal with a lot of traffic.

I like Sabonis, but it isn't the 90s, you need spacing.

If I had to choose between Sabonis and Turner for the Suns with least disruption to chemistry, I'd choose Turner.

He is a good defender who can shoot outside.

I am basing it on FACTS. WHAT WE HAVE ACTUALLY SEEN ON THE FLOOR.

Good lord. You are basing your opinion on literally NOTHING at the NBA level.

And there is NO WHERE that I've said anything about him down the road. I'm talking about what he is RIGHT NOW. And right now he's a TERRIBLE SHOOTER and he's shown ZERO ability to get better over the two years he's been in the league.

stop changing my position because yours is ludicrous.

You are making my argument for me. Jalen Smith is not a finished product. Thank you.

I think Sabonis is the better player but yes, I agree that Turner would be the better fit. I don't think I would want to offer what the Pacers would ask in a trade though.

A team who is 21-4 should be very leery of trading away any of their current important contributors.

I wouldn't want to mess with chemistry either for what it would take to get Turner.

He is a little bit like Bobby Portis in that respect.
He’s much more capable of creating shots. He would fill a role we don’t have at present, a front court player who can consistently get his own shot or get to the line. I hate messing with our chemistry, but this could be a big get.

Your having a fixed opinion about a 21 year old player is amusing too.
I don’t see it as a “fixed opinion.” He’s not saying he will never be a good shooter. He’s saying you can’t say he “is a good shooter” (your claim) because the numbers show definitively that right now, he is not, and has never been at the nba level.

I've wanted Jerami Grant ever since he left Denver.

I can't see a way to do it but I would be ecstatic if they could find a way without messing with their rotation players.

I’m willing to be convinced it could work. Sabonis can shoot a little and he’s a superb passer. With excellent perimeter players like book, Paul and Bridges it might work.

I have to chuckle at this response. Your argument that he’s a good shooter is based on you know nothing about him? That’s essentially what you’re saying here.

That’s just not possible for a couple of reasons:

1. The pistons aren’t going to just give him away

2. He will require a healthy dose of minutes (think no less than 26-30 per night). By definition that eliminates one, if not two, rotation players.

Actually Jalen Smith didn't impress me much in summer league but I'm now seeing some of the same things in him that I did when he played in college.

Jalen is a center at this stage of his career. Outside shooting is not his strength at the moment but he can shoot. If you don't believe me check out some of his college video.

My whole thing is I wish the Suns had picked up his option because I think he will be a solid NBA player.

I don't think you have read everything I have said about Stix. I've explained why I think he will be a good shooter.

As I said, I don't see anyway the Suns can trade for Jerami Grant without disrupting their rotation players which I don't want to do.

A team has to want what players you are trading, not just what works in a trade machine.

college is not the NBA, either from an athlete standpoint or AN ACTUAL 3 POINT DISTANCE standpoint.

If you believe he can shoot at the NBA level, check out what he's done in his time... uh... IN THE NBA.

Again, saying "he can shoot" in the NBA is backed up as much information in the real world as unicorns and fairies being real.

As cheese indicated shooting in college isn’t the same as shooting in the pros. Longer distance, faster closeout defenders. Many more players skills from college have failed to transfer to the pros than have. This until you see it at the pro level it’s a cannot do.

I’ve read literally everything and I believe that you have completely failed to make a reasonable case.

The sample size is not large enough. I can't help it if you think in terms "unicorns and fairies being real."

I've already mentioned the sample size is not large enough.

Hmm, I don’t think that’s really true. We’ve seen him play enough to be able to say that he bricks (not rims out) a high percentage of his shots. His motion also looks clunky. At present he’s not a shooter at the nba level. There’s no evidence to say otherwise.

Like who made you prosecutor, judge and jury.
First, if there’s a jury then asking who made me judge is irrelevant. Second I believe cheese is your primary foe, so he’s your prosecutor. That just leaves me as the purveyor of each of your cases and I believe you’ve provided circumstantial evidence (shooting in college) at best that’s entirely unpersuasive in regards to the matter at issue. Stix is a bad shooter. So let it be written, so let it be done. Proclaim it from the hilltops.

This got corny quick

Anyone got any other trade ideas? What’s the word on buy outs?

Eh we were just doing the eternal internet dance of the damned repeating and repeating and repeating.

I’m unsure there’s a good deal to be made out there for us right now.

Lol.

I think buyouts don’t usually happen until further down the line in the season.

Goodnight "purveyor." Actually I think Cheese and I understand each other.
