I finally found two. Both right before the end of the half. Almost back to back.

Two out of 36 throws. Yessir he was bouncing them off the ground all day.

Defensive penalties and the inability to stop Adrian Peterson led to two Vikings scores and double deuce gives them the other.

But the Cards lost because Skelton was bouncing the ball at the feet of the receivers all day. :bang:

Man who's the crazy guy who responded to mulli with this stuff?

Clearly spends too much time reading the game day thread.

Yeah a 70% completion rate really sucks.

There's no echo chamber in the game thread. Me making a mistake, checking my facts, and then admitting the mistake 30 minutes later is exactly the same as Russ continuing to admit and go through the game thread to illustrate that there are 500 posts about Skelton bouncing EVERY PASS, including the completions, during yesterday's game.

Skelton, in fact, only knows how to throw bounce passes.

a guys mechanics to cure inaccuracy? maybe to polish off a guy who some might be called accurate but suffers from a few off throws. Skelton...fingers, hand, wrist, mind set...dude is inaccurate and it will not be fixed. Done, case closed, cannot be our QB of the future. Strong arm, great attitude with leadership qualities, pretty smart to go to Fordham in my opinion but this is about instincts while doing a physical action of throwing the ball. If we go with Skelton, there is not a OC born that can draw up a consistent approach with any confidence.

There's multiple posts about TWO passes in the first half. That's as far as I read. If you somehow interpret that to be people saying every pass is bounced that's on you not the people on the thread.

hell even in this thread Shane says 3 throws at someone's feet. I'm not going to look back at this whole thread but I don't recall anybody saying Skelton was bouncing every throw at someones feet. Gee exaggerated for effect but he also admitted to doing so.

And you know why I brought up Sherman, because you were ripping the announcer(without even knowing he was right) for apparently confusing two players when you did it yourself, looking at tape.

If you can dish it out you ought to be able to take it too. I'm sure if the announcer were given the opportunity to say oh my bad that was Ryan Williams, he would. You only did it because several people pointed out you were wrong, there's no such immediate feedback for the announcer.

You are entitled to that opinion but I disagree. When Kolb was playing we had threads game after game about all the missed throws, the holding the ball too long etc. We had huge threads dissecting potentially big plays he missed after every game.

Skelton started so he's getting the scrutiny and because we were throwing the ball so short yesterday, it's even more obvious he struggles with accuracy. When you see Doucet almost diving to catch a screen thrown right, or falling down because he had to turn to catch a short pass to the left, that's lack of accuracy because the passes are so short and run after catch is totally dependent on the ball being thrown well.

He was rusty and will hopefully be sharper next week, if he's not we're in big trouble you can't win with that inaccurate a QB running a short passing attack you basically need 2 completions to move the chains.

Love to talk about it, but it ain't worth it like I said.

Not to mention it seems like some of the "stronger personalities" sat on a tack last night.

Not worth it. Plus K9 is crazy enough to take part in this, so go yell at him.

BTW, Brett Favre in my opinion was a dumb redneck...being a dumb redneck, being a Kenny Stabler...being that this is football, that is not the problem. It is called throwing an accurate pass to your WR which the player can freaking catch. The Sammy 'dumb redneck' Baughs of the world do just fine in football :D

Can I be honest with you guys?

But I really really hate Skelton.. And it's not because I like or think Kolb is the man.. I think Kolb is adequate.. Nothing more..

I just really hate Skelton.. I think he is a ******** redneck that can't think fast enough to process information to make good decisions.. He has all the things you look for in a QB.. Height, arm etc.. But he is just redneck country slow..

I hear you.

He grew up in El Paso, Texas.

I mean, a white man living in the desert. There is no way he is not a redneck.

Skelton only completed 69+% of his passes yesterday. Truly a dumb redneck who can't throw an accurate pass. Meanwhile our receivers continue to fail to get separation and if their last name doesn't begin with an F can't catch anything in traffic.

But neither matters because the dumb rednecks we have on our offensive line will give up a sack or a pressure that forces a bad throw every time the offense gets something going just in time to kill the drive.

I have an idea. Maybe the Cards should just run plays that call for a shovel pass. Skelton did ok with those Sunday.

Kolb is also from Texas. Went to High School in the redneck Capital of the State, Stephenville, TX.

Adrian Wilson has to be the biggest Redneck on the team. He's from High Point North Carolina. Then there's Darnell Dockett. He's from Georgia!

The completion rate doesn't tell the whole story. Kolb's not much better at it, but guys often have to make enormous effort to get some of Skelton's passes. It limits the amount of YAC yards possible for the receivers and really puts these guys at risk over the long-term.

But I never called them dumb rednecks.. Only Skelton.. Just because you live in redneck country doesn't mean you are.. You guys need to quit getting so defensive..

I'm just the most contemptable figure in sports--Message Board Guy--according to Paul Calvisi. I'm not a paid professional who is telling an anecdote about a guy who went on IR two weeks before. And you won't often hear me citing a network's fourth-best announcing crew as an authority on something I can barely remember. You do that all the time.

The only way we would know if Skelton is a redneck is if the RAM slots in his computer have Dodge Truck parts in them.

It's just a bit misleading to list the total stats and act like they're representative of the performance.

First 25 attempts 15-25 132 yards or just 5.28 YPA. Last 11 attempts 10-11 130 yards or 11.18 YPA. Before Minn went prevent we were completing 60% of short passes where we had to complete 2 in every set of downs to get a first. After they went prevent 91% of passes where we got a first down on ever average completion.

If we can convince SF to play that defense all game on Monday we'll blow them out.

I get your point, but you should be willing to accept that turning the ball over is also part of the Skelton package, is costing us and has to be addressed.

Skelton is averaging over 1 int per NFL game, something that Jamarcus Russel never did in his entire career. Now that's bad!!! :bang:

Skelton makes some dumb throws... no doubt. But lets review our the "redneck" status of our QBs. I mean, is the "dumb redneck" stereotype really being applied to the right crappy quarterback?

One QB grew up in Texas, went to college in Texas, chews tobacco and kills pigs in his free time, the other QB went to a tiny college in New York City...

If someone is opposed to a potential "redneck" being the starting QB then they should probably hop on the Lindley bandwagon.

Interesting tidbit: John Skelton and Rob Housler were born on the same day in El Paso, Texas.

Is Rob Housler also a "redneck"?

(Inquiring minds want to know)

They said they were born in the same hospital on the same day.

And had never met until they joined the Cards.
