Yup. Did you get the feeling that Andre is fast becoming Kolb's favorite target? Guy could not catch a cold last summer but he is looking so much better.
Roberts is not a real #2, he is no Edwards or Floyd or Urban. Kolb is just another McCown and he is no Warner

Beanie, Housler, OB, Bartel, d line, Sampson, S Will, Roberts, amongst others.

IMO we're pretty deep at wideout
Beanie is made of the same glass as Doucet, Housler cant block, we dont have a single 3-4 dline man, not a real#2 on the team, FO sucks

I haven't watched the game yet (it's on DVR) but I like reading these comments. I had high hopes for Schofield and had some concerns because Acho was getting some reps I thought Schofield would get.
I also like the feedback on the WRs because I really thought we should have made a play for a bigger name number 2 guy.
Dont waste your time it sucks, like the FO, our Oline, pass rush and whole history! You're right we dont have a real #2 and it is impossible for anyone on our roster to develop into one.

I suspect people get the message. I also suspect one of them is likely to point out that this was just a preseason game and that there is still reason to be concerned. But that's just me, I know very little but suspect a whole lot.

All that matters is that it's time for Beanie to step up and Beanie had some really good moments.

He broke some nice runs and delivered some solid blows to defenders.

He also failed miserably on atleast 1 pass protection assignment.

The point is that Beanie has been saying all along that he needs 20 carries a game to dominate, and he wants to be "the man."

Ok Beanie, you are the man now, it's all on you. Even if we bring in a backup, it's still you, so GO GET IT SON!

Housler is only going to get better this season. He will be our own version of Tony Gonzalez. Beanie finally gets his chance to get all the carries so no excuses. If Schofield doesn't produce like we hope I think the only linebacker that we have that has the speed to be a passrush demon is Washington. I would be using his speed to get to the QB. One way or another we have to find a way to rush the passer or the defense will get picked apart.

AJ Jefferson has been the most surprising player this preseason to me. I didn't expect nothing from him and right now he is playing better than any of our other CB's. If he emerges as a solid CB for us this year I will feel alot better about the DRC trade. I think we need to put PP21 in the lineup and leave him there. Let him learn now and hopefully by the end of the year he will be showing us why some had him as the best player in the draft. To me he should be starting every preseason game and playing for three quarters. I want him ready to start the season and be productive early.

Well ESPN Featured Smith and his 12 rushes for 39 and a TD, Beanies 11 for 44 wasn't mentioned.

But Hawk and the GB Defense will remember Beanie, He took his breath away. squared up hit Hawk right in the chest lifted him and drove through Hawk right into the ghosts of Lambeu field. All while dragging another Packer, who also was punished by THe Bean.

He had the Packers cursing, posturing and acting like anti-Lombardi's.

Beanie was getting stronger as He went, He and the Cardinals needed that, He's a 100 yard back on 25 carries for the next 5 years, There is not many like him left around.

And that called back catch, showcased the traffic and open field skills I rave about. His called back plays for the Cardinals is better than most RB's career highlight films, I have seen Beanie drop 1 catch-able ball in 3 years, several from the wide position.

FEED THE BEAN,

Another name that definitely caught my attention is DeMarco Sampson, not only as a WR, but with his stellar play on the KO team. I also like what I saw from Vonnie Holiday, and from Anthony Sherman.

Housler sucks cant block drops balls, Holliday is old and useless we should have signed him years ago + FO is cheap for signing him and Eason

Referring to Housler, you might want to correct that to read, (dropped his last pass). I believe he caught all the rest of them.

Jay Feeley is a VG kicker and will definitely help offset OL mistakes, even if seven is better than three.
How was our backup punter?

Did Beanie and Hawk play together at Ohio State?

No, Hawk graduated the year before.

Three plays that stood out to me tonight:

1) Beanie's hands, vision, speed, and power on that called back screen.

2) Dockett's hit on that play where he had dropped into coverage, and it looked like the RB was going to have a huge gain, until DD came out of nowhere and drilled him. That was an interesting position Horton put DD in.

3) Joey Porter 10-15 yards downfield make a perfect pass breakup on a pass to the TE.

I also like what I saw from DeMarco Sampson. Good size, speed, and ran solid routes. Looked a little weak on down field blocking the times I watched. Could be a real find that late in the draft.

you would think we have a team full of Zach Walz's out there :D.
I’d take a team of undersized, overachieving, handsome, Ivy Leaguers that can somehow manage a 4yr NFL career, over the group of aged ex-Steelers, un-system fitting defenders, crappy OT’s, #3 and #4 receivers, that wouldn’t be in any other NFL training camp, that our slow, stupid, cheap, unable to evaluate talent, sorry excuse for a front office has assembled, to be coached by 3rd choice, stubborn, know nothing, shouldn’t be coaching above HS level, coaches, that wouldn’t even rank in the top 10 of football knowledge if they posted on this board. Don’t you realize 2008 was an anomaly (and possible a sign of the apocalypse) never to be repeated as long as the slow, stupid, cheap, unable to evaluate coaches or FO staff, Biddwells own the team. RISE UP!!!

I only got to watch the live "look ins" on NFL network but two guys stood out to me.

#1 D'Anthony Batiste LT - He has the fundamentals and finishes all of his blocks. Would love to see him playing against the 1's.

#2 Dan Williams - It was one play but he blew the Center in the backfield and sacked Rogers.

Can't wait until the replay today.
