I didn't realize 32 was old? Its not because of his age, its because he's mentally inept to play a game.

In football terms it can be.. Especially for a guy that played in and started in 155 games over a decade.

Okay then, he's out of the game at 32 because he's mentally inept. How often do you think that happens? You know, where a guy plays the game into his early 30's, makes the Pro Bowl, picks up a big-time contract and then gets kicked to the street for a condition that apparently dogged him since birth.

I understand that 100%, but theres tons and tons of OL who play well into their 30's and maintain their competetive edge. I'm sure if I took the time to look at the stats, I would bet theres at least 150-200 OL in the league that are over 30.

:lmao:

see what I mean?

They both commit/committed dumb penalties but we got more positive play from LD than we have ever had from LB. There is a reason more people were willing to live with LD's mistakes than LB's, there was some positive to balance his play.

I am also not in the group that believes LB will make a good OG either. The guy is probably best suited as a back-up OT unfortunately for us he is one of our 2 best OTs on the roster so we have no chice but to start him.

I think guys like Leonard Davis aren't getting as many looks as they would in previous years because of the shortened timeframe to prepare for the season. In most years, you could bring in a Leonard Davis/Bryant McKinnie and see how he played in OTAs/minicamps and then cut him in training camp if he isn't where you want him to be.

This year, if you don't factor in a teams plans, why bother?

Right on the money Zeno. Certain posters with selective memories don't mention that most of us agreed that LDavis was playing out of position at left tackle and should be used at Guard. This of course was proven correct when LD went to Dallas and was immediately installed at Guard where he started 64 games.

No matter how you spin it the Cards are in the exact same position, if not worse, at LT as they were in 2006 and we have Beanie Wells instead of Adrian Peterson.

Typical Cardinals history though. Two first round picks at LT but they go to the SB with journeyman Mike Gandy at LT who was released only a year later.

Davis will almost certainly get signed after the first game. (Assuming that rule hasn't changed in the new CBA.) As injuries mount up these last two weeks of preseason, someone is going to need a replacement OL.

everyone in hindsight? that couldn't be further from the truth. most people were saying that BEFORE the draft. that's called foresight.
You've mis-read me; or maybe my writing sucks!

only to draft his clone as a replacement instead of Adrian Peterson, whom nearly everyone (everyone in hindsight) wanted instead.
I'm saying that nearly everyone wanted Peterson instead!

AND in hindsight EVERYONE wanted Peterson instead - that was inserted as a sort of tounge-in-cheek comment, because in hindsight OF COURSE everyone would want Peterson instead!

And yeah, Brown is average to below average. Nearly all comments regarding his play may be warranted. My point is there is an inordinate amout of ranting and berating about him because people are still sore over the FUBAR scenario of Davis - Peterson - Brown.

At a minimum Levi Brown is the second best OT the Cardinals have had since Lomas Brown, unfortunately that's not a very high bar.
