If that were the ending then he did a horrible job of explaining it to the audience. At least have the gun shot go off if you were to say that he was getting whacked.

Besides who was going to whack him? Phil's dead and the rest of the NY seemed to be of the belief that he had gone too far.

I just think it was a non-ending with two of the characters there made you think he was either a) getting busted by the feds or going to whack him. However as far as we know nothing actually happenedand that makes it a non-ending.

I still say they're setting it up for a movie and with the following that this show had, I wouldn't blame David Chase or HBO for doing so

I agree with you, but Seal makes an excellent point, especially with his mentioning to Tony's flashback of what Bobby said on the boat.

Even still I'd prefer to at least have a little more of a clue for closure
like a gunshot.

Of course there is also still the question of who wanted him dead with Phil gone and NY seeming to want to back off.

It wasn't bad it was just different

I can't really see Butch making a huge play for power after the sit down. Also, he was only a minor character before this season. They were trying to develop something with Paulie, but it was over my head. BTW how many seasons have the Sopranos had?

I'm sure your mind was running all over the place with all the people and activity going on.

That was very good and well done. Especially with the song chosen playing and the way it ended.

Don't stop believing....

But I didn't like the non-ending ending...it was a cop out. It's nice to see an artistic ending, but the fans of Sopranos aren't the David Lynch crowd. This ending will get blasted, likely.

This was my take, and screw you if you don't want spoilers. They were going on with their lives, always looking over their shoulders, never knowing what was coming next. The Journey song was very telling, they were chasing the American dream, they just went about it differently and they paid a price for it. Tony didn't die, he was just always looking out for his death

yeah - i was hoping for something better - this was just another episode - definitely should of closed it one way or the other

i took it as life going on as normal, however between the trial and the cast of characters you never know when it's your turn

meadow ran in - but the significance of that could of been lost by how frantic she was trying to park

the guy going to the bathroom looked familiar - I just couldn't place him

i would of actually of been happy with them doing a life goes on with a solid ending - didn't really like the finish - like a lot of other times the past few seasons a big build up and then nothing

eh, I loved the ending. Whether he died or not, or goes to jail, one thing we get from the show is living the life of a mobster results in either and Tony's end will be the same. I don't need them to spell it out exactly what would be his demise, just that it's coming.

Great series!

Note: I'm still pissed they never wrapped up... let alone, even mentioned the Russians again. The episode in the snow never was mentioned again and that whole plot dropped. The ending of the series was perfect IMO, but never telling us about the Russian problem as if hitting one of their guys will make it all go away, that pissed me off AND it was one of my favorite episodes.

I agree on all counts. I enjoyed the ending.

They definitely left it open to capitalize on the Box office smash a movie would be.

I don't know how you can enjoy not having closure, thinks of Tony's history. We've followed him for 7 years and we don't know how it ends.

I felt pretty good after the show last night, and I thought it was a great ending.

After reading all these comments and realizing I'm on my own as far as what I interpreted, I am having second thoughts. Now I'm starting to feel disspointed just like some of you.

As far as the movie, I thought I read somewhere that James Gandolfini stated he will no longer play the role of TS beyond the series. I can't find anything on it though.

I don't think there will be a movie, though they did leave it open to one.

After sleeping on it, I still love the open ended final. Why should he die or be taken to jail to end the show? Maybe it's just 'life goes on'? They popped into their lives, why not just pop out?

Anyway, I loved the show, the series, now it's time to get rid of HBO.

I read that just last week in an interview with him. He was tired of the role and looked forward to being done with it. I don't believe there will be a movie.

Indictments, Syl's health, Did that guy flip, The guy going to the bathroom, Who elevates after Phil, Is Junior just going to rot, What of his money, Why was Meadow having so much trouble parking, What is up with the new movie project, Is he overcoming his depression, Who replaces Bobby, Even the Journey song at the end was weird.... What are we believing? What were we supposed to believe? HOPEFULLY there is a movie.

I didn't really watch the show but everyone is talking about it this morning. I read somewhere that there is a school of thought that shows series shouldn't have closure at the end of there run because it makes it more appealing for sindication. The thinking goes that if a viewer feels like all the loose ends are wrapped up and the show has an "end" why would they go back to watching something that they finished.

Hes tired of it until hes offered a guaranteed 20+ million to reprise the role. I wouldnt bet that there wont be a movie. To much money to be made IMO.

I heard on the radio this morning that a "friend of a cast member" said that there is definitely a movie coming.

I don't watch the show, so I don't really care, but I thought I'd pass along what I heard.

Are you not liking his ending the show or everything?

He suckered me this whole last year of epsiodes. It seemed that every event this season was geared to the ending and then there was no ending. I have held a belief for awhile now that directors and writers lack the ability to end their production with the same creativity that goes into the body of their work. He owed us, the viewers, nothing but in return I owe him nothing in any future productions he might conjure up. No biggie. Just a TV show , but he can KMA.

He won't lose any sleep on the way to the bank with my critique.

A simple utterance from Tony , would have been a helluva lot better than a blank screen devoid of sound. Tell me you didn't switch channels to see if your cable went out.
