AJ is such a tool.

9 foot pool, 10 foot rope.

How did Tony NOT kill that guy giving him a smiley face? That was very American History X.

I haven't chimed in here but this series has been my favorite series of all time.

Yeah it has had it's sucky periods like all series do but man some of this stuff is so good it's shameful to regular tv.

HBO misses a lot but this one was a Grand Slam and I'm sorry to see it go in a way.

Only one observation.

Tony isn't a sociopath.

IMO Tony is an incredibly written character, what he is basically is a good guy that grew up under enormous human drama and pressure that he's never going to completely deal with but under it all he is a good person.

Sociopaths don't care about anything or anyone, they aren't capable of it, Tony is impulsive and he's cruel at times but he has substitued his own moral code for what we'd all call a normal one, killing a mobster isn't something a mobster has much of a problem with, and he dosen't except when he killed Big ***** and that really tore him up, a sociopath wouldn't have flinched at that.

A sociopath wouldn't defend a gay captain.

I don't think Tony is even a bad guy, he's just unlawful that's one definition of a sociopath but only part of it, clinically I don't think he's even close.

He pays his debts, he's loyal to those loyal to him and he couldn't whack Paulie for just being annoying, a true sociopath would.

Finally, I simply can not believe the Russian guy that Paulie and Christopher lost in the snow never came back, maybe the guy died that played him or they simply just let it rest but I would have bet money he came back at some time and caused Tony to have to Whack Paulie, he laid it totally on him in the car.

No way he comes back now with two episodes left, they couldn't possibly tie it in now, I'm just astonished at that and somewhat happily suprised in that it wasn't as easy to predict as I thought.

I like your whole take on Tony.

As for the Russian guy, I read a David Chase interview once, and he mentioned that he purposely did not include him in any other episode, and they will not reveal what has happened to him. He mentioned real life, and how you don't know the ending of everything in real life.

I wouldn't be surprised if the interview was already posted here because I can't remember exactly where I read it. HBO.com maybe?

I don't think you could be more incorrect

A sociopath wouldn't defend a gay captain.

He was one of his biggest money makers, he wasn't defending his gayness rather his ability to put money in his pocket. He was repulsed by the lifestyle

He pays his debts, he's loyal to those loyal to him and he couldn't whack Paulie for just being annoying, a true sociopath would.

Do you even watch the show? He just borrowed $200,000 from the Jew and then told him he was only going to give him $3000 a week. There were other instances of him borrowing money and then just forgetting the debt because he knew nobody could muscle him.

Tony may not be a textbook sociopath but he is one. In the last episode he didn't know whether he killed a guy or not and he goes to his son's counceling session like it was nothing.

He he

I knew someone would get hacked at that take but I wasn't just doing it to stir up trouble, I really believe it.

Tony wasn't just defending the guy as an earner and yeah he's repulsed by the lifestyle but he also mentioned in several conversations that's it's been around in the Mob before.

The way he participated in the conversations led me to believe he had some shreds of compassion for the guys problem is all, not that he wanted to majorly risk his own skin for him, just his feelings on it weren't totally about money, I think he felt empathy for him which sociopaths don't feel.

He whined about it but after the Jews SO died he paid him, that's not something a sociopath would do.

The counseling session was funny, Tony wasn't sorry he beat the guy up, he felt he deserved it, he was sorry for the implications it has but that kind of act while shocking to us, is just part of his business life, part of being a Mob boss.

Tony to me is a greatly written example of a person who's good but does really bad things, he's so far down the Mob rabbit hole he's not comming back but that wouldn't be interesting if he's a sociopath.

The dicotomy of pinching Christophers nose shut and caring about ducks and horses and dogs and his family is amazing.

Another reason to love the show.

Thanks for that!

My father thinks it is Bobby and I agree that is a definite possibility. When he killed the guy in the first ep. and he goes back and reflects on what his family means to him (holding his daughter, "This Magic Moment" playing) it seemed like he would choose to inform rather than go to jail.

New episodes of both shows resume next week.
They showed "Bury my heart at Wounded Knee" kast night, which was pretty good.

Great episode. But I feel like were getting cheated again. Two episodes remained and this ones running time was a whole 45 minutes.

Isnt this supposed to be an hour long show?

Well, ConradDobbler...I guess Tony really is a sociopath and Dr Melfi realized it. :)

Why was Paulie spared? I thought he was Tony's #2 guy? I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Paulie has been playing both sides of the fence.

Syl has always been Tony's #2

But your right I dont understand them taking out Bobby over Paulie.

they brought it up in the episode - when phil was talking about hitting the top 3 - someone mentioned paulie and phil stated that he thought bobby was #3 now - a guy made a joke about him driving Jr before phil put him back in his place

i wouldn't be shocked to see paulie be playing both sides - his character has always been about self preservation and I could see him aligning with the old school nature of phil and the feeling of being slighted by tony

i also think AJ is the sociopath they keep refrencing about talk therapy - he really seemed to enjoy torturing the kid with the foot and in the prior seasons he was always kind of a punk and didn't really think of anything but his desire - now he seems to be using psycotherapy buzz words to justify his action/inaction - i wouldn't be shocked to see him do something

really looking forward to the last episode

I'm thinking AJ is gonna have a big part in the final episode. I remember when Meadow said "you're their only son - do you know what that means?" (ie, daughters are irrelevant)

Um, that's what she thinks yeah, however it looks as if she caved to peer pressure and simply was wrong IMO.

He didn't do anything to her, I think a sociopath would have hunted her down and killed her for the mere fact she caught on.

Whoa.... I actually agree with Conrad.
