Yeah, you have to wonder why they spent so much time on this. Will Carm flee to Paris if indeed a war kicks in?

Gay Vito was on Sirius NFL Radio yesterday and they were talking about the show. Apparently David Chase's (the creator of Sopranos) wife is French, so they were looking for an excuse to film in France and feature all the different landmarks on the show.

I thought they were exploring Carm’s struggle with her lifestyle. I got the feeling that she is finally coming to grips with the fact that no matter how awful she feels about how she lives and the environment in which she lives, it won’t matter in the long run because she is just a spec in time. She seemed mesmerized on items that have survived thousands of years. I suspect she will have a new attitude for the remaining espisodes.

Guess no one was impressed with the show or all the fans went away. 2 posts since the last episode.

Maybe we need our own subforum? :D

I'm beginning to realize that Meadow & AJ's main problems are because of Carmella. She's the worst kind of mother. She's a coddler & a criticizer. She coddles her kids, letting them stay at home all day, mooching money off her, leeching off her, basically doing whatever they want with no discipline. Then she criticizes their every move, always with the negative energy.

When she was away, Tony finally instilled some discipline in his son. The move with the job & the helmet through the truck window were great moves to get his point across. If anyone's gonna shape up AJ, it'd be him. He just needs to not go too far. But Tony's a tragic character, so he probably will go too far with the discipline, as Dr Melfi was explaining to him (the speech about intense discipline from parents leading to the child needing to dominate & control in their daily lives as adults).

Psychologically, Carmella's a mess. Great character IMO. Tony & Sil had the right idea about Vito, they wanted to be accepting, but in that business it's strictly don't ask, don't tell, & if it gets out, you're a dead man.

Phil's insane. How he killed Vito was just wrong. Then he's sitting there with her widow consoling her? Incredible.

That scene where Tony walked into AJ’s room and he was sitting in his underwear laughing on his computer was classic. However, when AJ lived with him, he didn’t do crap to bring AJ around. It seems different this time though. I think Tony has finally had enough and he’s done using the kid-gloves approach.

Phil is absolutely insane. He’s the most heartless character on the show right now. I can’t stand that guy.

I agree, Phil is an animal.

I am also interested to see how much time passes in the show when it returns in January.

Good point. They usually stick to real time. However, these are bonus episodes, they may just continue from what we’re watching now.

Anyone else catch the subtle humor/irony of where Phil was hiding in Vito's room?

I think Carmela dreaming about Andrianna, running into her mother at the carnivale and "you should tell your friend she is dead" is a foreshadow to Carmela's death. Basically Carmela helping Adrianna cross over

Don't know why or how but I think she is going to die before the show ends

another thing I noticed is that Phil's character in "Goodfellas" was a made guy and killed without prior approval now he is the one killing the made guy with out approval

There is a rumor that Kobe Bryant is in one of the final 8 eps;

"he's on one of the final eight episodes of "The Sopranos" where he will play a basketball player who gets in debt to the mob."

Not sure if I buy it, but figured I'd post nonetheless.

And give up the lifestyle that Tony has given her? No chance. Without the Sunday dinners and her kids, what has she really accomplished? She sees how her friends are doing without their husbands and she couldn’t imagine living like that. She finally understands the place she has created for herself and it appears that she has dealt with it. Now that things are in perspective with her, I’m really curious as to what will happen next.

My prediction, which was in this thread earlier, is when all is said and done, Carmella ends up with the business. ;)
