Awesome teaser trailer! Doesn't give much away but we get to see stormtroopers, x-wings, tie fighters, the Millennium Falcon and a unique lightsaber...the only characters we see are Daisy Ridley's, Oscar Isaacs (X-Wing pilot) and John Boyega (in storm trooper gear minus the helmet of course).

Was happy it didn't look like a Pixar CGI fest. And it's always great to see the Falcon, but other then that... Meh.

Unlike most teasers nowadays, this one actually felt like an actual tease, not a plot-point revealing short film.

I thought it did a great job teasing the film.

It gave really nothing away. Just let people know a lot of the elements from the original trilogy are there--Storm Troopers, TIE fighters, X-Wings, Millennium Falcon but not a hint of who is who. I was a little surprised not a single member of the original cast was shown.

Any guesses on who did the voice over? I have heard guesses that is was Cumberbatch, Max Von Sydow, Mark Hamill or an "electronically synthesized" Adam Driver. I haven't a clue myself.

my bet is Von Sydow.

again, I was underwhelmed by the teaser overall, but was really happy to see what looked like a lot of practical effects/locations and that the storm troopers themselves didn't look like CGI cartoons. that gives me a little hope moving forward.

+1

I also think it was Von Sydow. Cumberbatch was rumored to be involved in the project, but I don't think he ever was.

But putting a Wall-E type droid in. Oy. Just once leave the cutesy crap out.

I was ok with the rolly droid. With Disney owning the franchise, coupled with Lucasfilms recent animated-only offering before that, I expected a more direct kid-centric feel.

It was the silly lightsaber that erked me...until I saw this:

Now it all makes sense.

Yeah, the light saber's dumb, because the whole point of a cross-guard is to keep from getting your hand/fingers slashed, and that cross-guard wouldn't do the job.

But otherwise, I liked the trailer.

Yeah I am not a fan of that light saber either. If the rumor of there being a bad guy who collects Sith artifacts is true that may explain it...maybe that is like a first gen light saber.

Now the speculation is centered on who that is...Adam Driver? Gwendolyn Christie? Andy Serkis? That is going to be the one secret I suspect Abrams will try to hold on to longest.
