I see some Packer fans on our boards saying trade Rodgers or draft another QB and start rebuilding. This team is collapsing fast. Ty Montgomery and Haha Clinton Dix were smart to leave. We will be 7-9 for years to come or less.

When a locker room is lost by a coach I think that happens. But I don't think you trade away a franchise QB. Packers probably need some pieces in terms of player personnel but QB is more than ever the starting point. Bring in a coach that gets along with Rodgers and has a modern approach to things and the Packers are back in the playoffs overnight.

But I'm not so sure thinking replacing a HOF QB is as easy as the Packers have had it with the last two. I know it isn't a good idea to let the fans of any team run things.

McCarthy has been bad for a long time now.
Define long time because with the exception of the last 2 seasons the Packers went to the playoffs 8 straight seasons including losing the NFC championship game through no fault of his own(botched onsides kick). Bostick catches this and the Packers and not the Seahags go to the Super Bowl:

I'm not sure you quite understand what Packer fans are saying. This may have less to do with the HC & more to do with Rodgers & the Organization as a whole. The Fox Post Game yesterday were clear that the Packers are being run by people that are making mistakes & have been making mistakes. There is something not quite right with Rodgers these days. He's sullen on the sidelines & almost no one sits with him or talks with him. I've heard he doesn't even talk to his Mom anymore. I watched him closely yesterday, and I wasn't impressed with him. Almost every QB we've played against has made our D look silly. I have no respect for a QB that is purposely trying to get his HC fired. He was either doing that or he's lost a step. If it's the latter, the Packers are in deep doo doo. Regardless, I think McCarthy will be the hottest HC candidate going into the offseason. He would be ideal for Rosen & this miserable Cardinal offense. He's forgotten more about football than Wilks will ever know. The only thing about our team that would intrigue McCarthy is a young Rosen. Otherwise, we'd have no shot.

This game was probably the most convincing win Wilks will have in his HC career. Unfortunately, unless we get beat down each week hereafter I think we’re stuck with him next year

What drugs are you smoking? McCarthy is a terrible coach.

Well, that's a substantive argument to make. His winning % says otherwise and knowledgeable GB fans would say otherwise. Let's not forget that your response was also popular when we tried to court Reid when he was thrown out of Philly. I spoke with a few homegrown Packer fans over the weekend. They are season ticket holders, and attended training camp for the past 25 years. One common denominator was that no one ran a camp and/or practice quite like McCarthy did. His systems are excellent. Injuries on the OL have devastated this team in recent years, and the front office is a shadow of its former self. Rodgers got all the credit when the team won, and McCarthy got all the blame when the team lost. He'll move on & do very well. See Andy Reid. We'd be lucky to have him.

Let me see if i have this straight and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. When the team is successful it's all because of the palyers but if the team fails it's all on the coach? Help me out here.
Green Bay is in a reconstruction process/ Ted Thompson is gone. New front office. Mark Murphy. Brian Gutekunst , etc. M M is a holdover from the old regime. They were stagnating before this year. He may be an O C with some legitimacy but that damned playsheet has gotten in the way of his in game decisions. Clock management, go , no go strategy is questionable, and his coaching staff rivals the Cards. Joe Philbin and Mike Pettine have been colossal disasters at other stops where they specialized in getting fired due to incompetence. This H C move was not an overnight decision based on 1 game. M Mc was a known dead man walking. Now G B can get an early start on the search for the new guy.

I do not want to hire a coach on the decline. Find some up and coming rising star.

Neither one left on their own. Montgomery was dumped/traded. Dix was traded as an impending F A.

McCarthy will go somewhere and win. The Packers are catering to a franchise QB that is on the decline, and it is, and will be their downfall for years. I'm excited. I could see McCarthy go to the Browns.

Jeez, take a breath. His former team just pulled a Cardinals with a 1st ballot HoF QB. Who'll continue to be a big factor in the league for years to come. Pass.

Bottom line is if I’m a betting man, Wilks won’t be fired after this season which makes all of this talk nonsense by us. Especially after wining in a place we haven’t won in 72 years & the team played very hard. It could’ve very easily rolled over dead given the weather & a road game in a historic place.

I would fire Wilks, but I now believe chances are almost zero. Ugh
Pretty much this.

Honestly, there aren't really any options out there. Carmichael is an intriguing option. Just my .02, but I'd replace Wilks with McCarthy in a heart beat.

Not just no, but hell no. He has been stifling that offense and making questionable calls for years. I also doubt very seriously that he is being "screwed" by the FO - its much more likely he is on board with the pis poor personnel decisions they have made over the years.

He was canned for lack of production and not being innovative on offense. Is this really the guy you want as our next head coach?
And he’s getting compared to Reid like Reid hasn’t been able to adapt his whole career.

McCarthy has had a top five all time QB during an era where QB's performances matter more than ever. He has had a solid front office, that while it has struggled to field a good defense, has done a reasonable job to surround Rodgers with solid players. Often his offensive schemes have been the issue, not QB play.

He has clearly been a detriment to Rodgers play; Rodgers often makes plays outside of his schemes.

The current rumor is that Aaron decided to just go with M MC's plays at the line rather than switch. If so, he made his point.
