I would definitely agree there. Actually, he's a fairly astute observer of the game and he'd be at the top of my list if it weren't for his obnoxious laugh and how often he sets it free.

Steve

I bet you'd rather have either of them over Steve Albert though ;)

No. Albert would be in second place. A full season of Mark Jackson? Scary stuff. As I said, my only gripe with Thomas is that inappropriate laugh, he's actually pretty good otherwise.

I'll still take Mark Jackson over Albert. Though I guess we can't compare the two since Albert is the play by play announcer and Jackson has always been the commentator.

I'd do anything to trade Steve for his brother Marv.

Or even their brother Al Albert, who has announced for the New York Nets, Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers, as well as national NBA coverage for the USA Network.

Or Kenny, Marv's son, who has done some Knicks game.

ABS -- Anybody But Steve . . . and his self-depricating "humor", constantly reminding us that he is the runt of the litter.

Elfrid Payton is looking good. Sure wish we'd drafted this guy.

Have the Suns signed any of their draft picks?

I really like him too. Interesting there were all sorts of rumors on him last year that he was going to graduate early and transfer to a bigger name school for his senior year. He graduated HS at 17 and was apparently a very good student but he had such a good junior year he just decided forget transferring and go pro.

Plus you gotta love the hair.

Las Vegas Summer League starts today, with 4 games televised live by NBA TV.

Cleveland vs Milwaukee at 8PM EST could be interesting.

I wonder if Alex Oriakhi will be replaced on the Suns roster in summer league. The Kings roster seems to be loaded with players. I'd like to see the Suns bring in another PF even though the chances of making the Suns are slim.

That's a good thing to wonder. I wonder if I'll still like the Thomas trade 10 years from now when Oriakhi is voted in as a starter to his 9th straight All Star game. But you're right, our summer league has a lot in common with our regular season team. It's missing some bigs.

I'm just questioning if Oriaki will play for the Suns in summer league or whether he will be replaced. I usually don't wonder unless there is a reason.

It wouldn't make sense for the Suns to develop someone else's asset, right? I must not be understanding your question.

There has been no mention about a change, that's all. I'm probably the only one in the world who questions if the Suns have amended their roster. I used to live and breath the Suns going into summer league and the workouts that determined those players.

I know. I remember when summer league teams played with split rosters and such.

Didn't mean anything. It's a legit question, I wondered it myself. It's not like he has to be on our roster to play but it's in our best interest to get our own guys as much work as possible. I also don't know how it works, are we bound to him once we've agreed to put him on the team?

But does that even matter? Don't we use unaffiliated players all the time? Of course, it might be different once someone else has his rights, I just don't know.
