well a man down at half time to city and they have missed a pen. could be a long second half.....i will go for 3-0 city and us firmly in the battle to stay out of the bottom three with the skunks

I don't want to see either side go down. I want us both in the Premiership to keep the rivalry going.

Guys, why the heck are you giving up? You had a gutting result, I admit, but you're still clear of the drop zone, and you still have others who could fall below you. I'm thrilled we got a point, and I think the way we earned it (with a hometown hero, no less) will help propel us to stay up. Still, I think we can both stay up. The key will be goal differential. We're sitting at -15 and you're at -13. Two teams that are sitting on 34 points (4 up on us and 2 up on you) are at -19.

We can both stay up. It can happen. I want that to happen. Sadly, I have to root for us to beat Tottenham and you to lose to Hull, because I have to think of our safety first. Newcastle over Sunderland, after all ;)

I'm not throwing in the towel yet, but I'm disappointed that it has gotten to this point. Midway through the season I thought that Sunderland had a legitimate shot to finish in the top 10.

They have underachieved, IMO, and now we are going to have to sweat out a relegation fight again.

There's a circus in the Town, in the Town
Alan Shearer is a clown, is a clown
And Steven Taylor has only got one ball
And Newcastle United are going down, going down.

*shrug* I'll take the high road and root that we both stay up, because I love the rivalry. I can understand that you're too afraid to keep us as rivals, though.

Its goo that you feel like that and it might make you a bigger man than me...........but.......

There would still be derby games (just not that season) there will always be a rivalry, there has been for 130 years. Teams go up and down, yours just happens to have held onto to the top division for 16 years. I cant begin to tell you how much you go down. :stick: Of course it sits behind how much i want to stay up but its not just me, 95% of folks from Sunderland or from the great unwashed would say the same.

Call me sad if you want

Not sad. It's just your team that's sad ;) I love all the bad mojo you're creating for Sundy, though...watch YOU go down now :D

I still think we might, in fact i have backed us at 7.2 to go down, enough to pay for my season ticket if we do go down. I have also took lay on the Doon Army to stop up at even money.

just to soften the blow i suppose but we are by no means safe either, thats for sure.

Great end to the season and for anyone not involved on with the bottom 8 i guess.

Roll on the weekend when we draft Wells and beat West Brom...............oh and ....:stick:

i think we have been relegated, promoted and had about 5 mangers since it started. Supporting Sunderland is rollercoaster thats for sure.

Anyway who wants to be one of those mid table every season teams

Anyway i need to go and sit and look at the league table for another hour after the Pompy game last night.

If we beat WBA then we should be safe. I think it's going to be a tough match, though. WBA played pretty well last week against Man City until they surrendered that stupid penalty.

It better not be tough. WBA is the worst in the league right? I want three points. No excuse.

I could see it coming. Just pitiful.

WBA 3-0 Sunderland

Whether we survive or not, this match sealed Sbragia's fate, IMO. NO WAY he is the manager next season.

I am f'ing furious! Cant even bring myself to talk about it, other than i watched it streamed live and my wife walkout the room when i started hitting the laptop keyboard. It seems i need to 'grow up'

Sbragia is an ********! :moon:
