We'll be fine. Grayson will do well with a full season in charge i'm sure. My voice is gone, absolutely destroyed from all the shouting/singing last night. Those fans took the roof off Elland Road, made me proud to support such a crap team!

I ended up two rows in front when we scored the goal, with some ginger guy i've never met hugging me and kissing my head! Now THAT'S football.

it is indeed, its why we go mate.

me and play offs just dont mix. Swindon beat us as Wembley (although we did beat Newcastle 2-0 at their place in the semi's though), Gillingham beat us when they used to playoff for relegation and you used to play the team from the division below, then theres the charlton 4-4 and the then 7-6 on pens at Wembley, then there is Jeff Whitley trying to dink a penalty down the middle aganst Palace in the playoffs - ******!

god i hate the playoffs.

FLIPPIN' SWEET!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW!!!

Now GO BOLTON!!! A Bolton victory over Hull will pretty much guarantee that both Newcastle and Sunderland survive, because Hull's last match is against Man U. So, GO BOLTON!
one point for Hull today.

one point for Hull today.

Devastating loss for the Mags, and they have a tough match to end the season at Villa.

Sunderland can assure their safety if they can win Monday at Portsmouth. Ha'way!

16 Sunderland -17 36
17 Hull City -24 35
18 Newcastle United -18 34
19 Middlesbrough -28 32
20 West Bromwich Albion -29 31

*Sunderland and WBA have a game-in-hand.

Sunderland and WBA have played one less match to this point, so they still have six ponts they can earn before the end of the season.

Newcastle, Boro and Hull only have the chance to earn three more points.
thanks.

Man, I hope we win Monday. Not looking forward to sweating out the last game of the season.
The Black Cats are so like the pre-2008/09 Cardinals that they will most assuredly fail if it comes down to the last game (not Super Bowl last game).

Yeah, we're pretty well toast. Unless we can pull off a Fulham-esque last day miracle (and I think a mere draw would do), we're done. I have zero confidence that this happens.

i think you stay up mate. i can see at least a point for your lot on Sunday. As renz says, we need a win at Pompy as Chelsea will beat us last day.

Imagine Newcastle win last day of the season to send us down:barf:

Okay, granted Aston Villa has had a really bad run, so maaaaaybe we have a shot to pull out a point (we do play this as an away match). And granted you may not pull any more points. Still, Hull plays Man U, so unless both Newcastle AND Hull win tough games, Sundy is staying up. Remember, a Hull draw puts you even on points, but you have them beat in GD.

Man, I feel like the Steelers being assaulted by Cards fans...the Steelers don't like the Cards, but they'd always be willing to play them, while the Cards probably wish the Steelers would just fall off the face of the earth (I know I do).

I don't like Sundy, it's true, but I want to stay up and have you lot stay up, so the rivalry can continue. It's not as much fun otherwise. I don't really think it's just hatred that makes you want us to go down so much; I think it's that you're nervous you'll lose to us again. Rather than risk that, I think you'd rather we went down.

It's not much of a fun rivalry if you're afraid to even have to face a team ;)

I rest my case :pullhair:. I'm afraid that its that conceited view that sees most of this country wanting you to go down.

LOL I should have added the sarcasm as well as the smilie. Oh well, it was lost in computer translation. I do find it strange that your hatred runs so deep you want them demoted, so as not to be able to beat them up (yeah, we aren't scaring anyone top-flight, let's be realistic). Still and all, most of England want Newcastle relegated? That I can't buy. That sounds like a Sunderland fan's projection of his views onto the rest of England :)

I don't think it's just Sunderland fans. I'm an Arsenal fan and I've read some of their message boards. Most of them seem to want Newcastle sent down. I'm not sure why as I'm pretty new to soccer.

i really think most football fans dont like Newcastle.

Just thought i would have a look at some others teams boards, first one i looked at was Stoke.... http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Potters&action=display&thread=79351

The scary part is Man U/Hull City. Man U will certainly be resting their best players ahead of next Wednesday's Champions League final.

I could see Hull winning that game and then it would come down to Sunderland or Newcastle for the last relegation spot. If the Mags win then we are screwed because Chelsea will beat us easily.

That's why today is a must-win game. Come on!

I can't lie i actually want Newcastle to go down purely for the sake of poor ownership and the dumbest move to bring in Shearer as manager... umm yea that's a win/win right?
