An Army of One
Bye bye, Gooner *****. Ha'way!
Can't beat them in the league but beat them in the cup. You lot can't do anything right.
What you thinking this weekend stout? I can see you guys winning and us getting turned over.
Looks like you lot got off REALLY easy today. I was unable to watch the game, but I've read a bit. From how the ref has been rated, Cattermole should have been sent of VERY early. That's twice now that we should have had other teams down to ten men early (against Chelsea too). You are NOT supposed to take the time of the game into account, and supposedly it was a horrible, red-deserving foul by Cattermole. At least he got sent off later, as did another, rightfully so. You can let me know about all the yellow card offenses, as those haven't been as hashed out. I have no idea who was culpable in all of those.
We had over 60% possession and something like 3 times the shots. AND we missed a penalty, AND should have been playing a man up the whole match. Ugh, can't believe Ba missed a penalty! But even if he did, would Shola have then scored a late winner? Hard to say. You lot must hate Ameobi, though. He is definitely a kitten killer.
So, I'm upset that we gave up 2 points in a game that reads as if we should have been winners, but at least we didn't lose. I was in real fear of that.
Edit: Read a bit further about the Sessignon red. Even though even his own manager said he has to go off there, it sounds like Tiote really embellished it far too much. For shame! We aren't the Italian National Team, after all!
You really need to go and watch the game mate.
We were much the better side until Sess went off. After that, as expected we sat back and tried to hold on. That's said, you were flying by the end and had you scored the pen I think you would have gone on to win.
Two deffo pens and 100% a red card regardless of CT's antics. Some of the stuff that went on in the game was embarrassing to be honset, especially Pardew. No class.
I'm sure you won't agree but that's derby day for you.
I can't watch the game, as there's nowhere for me to watch it. Now that I know possession changed immensely when Sess went off, I can see what you mean. Yes, Pardew has admitted that his antics were childish, but O'neill bears the ENTIRE blame for kicking off the row that was this match. He directed his team to come out and be aggressive in a hack-and-slash style of play, and Newcastle responded in kind. That directly led to how bad the game was, even though it was effective in taking us off our game in the first half. The second half, after Pards had settled the boys down, was a different matter by all accounts. I think AP was super pissed that O'Neill would deliberately implement a thuggish game plan, no matter how effective, and he let his anger get the better of him in lashing out at O'Neill. They both bear a ton of blame, IMO.
I really wish I could have seen it, though I'd have been in agony for almost the entire match. Can't believe that that's the first penalty you lot have had all season, and that's the first one we've missed all season. The nice thing is that all reports are that the fans were pretty well behaved which, given the game, is a miracle.
Utter nonsense.
After Catts tackle which in most games would never earn a booking, we didn't commit a foul for another 17 minutes. In which time Newcastle committed 7.
...but yet our plan was to come out and kick you. Don't talk daft Stout lad.
The ref made a rod for his own back with that booking and players play acting and getting others booked need to have a look at them selves.
Hard game v Liverpool now and then a cup quarter final....with out our best 2 players. The pair of nuggets that they are.

MON bears the entire blame? The Newcastle Choirboys must have been unjustly given those 5 yellow cards during the match then.
We haven't played a "hack and slash" type game, as you call it, since MON got to Wearside. Why would he start now?
I know that if that was MON's strategy he sure wouldn't have started Bendtner.
I hate to crow over the disappointment of others (only because I know you guys as other than Sunderland fans), but I'm glad you guys are out of the FA Cup. I could NOT have you qualifying for Europe when Newcastle may not, nor did I want you in with a chance at the cup itself. Whew!
That's nice.
Totally gutted here. We didn't show up was the worst part.
Good way bounce back.
Shame about the late goals but given they have won the previous 20 homes in a row, it's a great point.
Epic collapse. Sunderland was definitely the better team over the weekend and only one point to show for it. Sessegnon was easily the best player on the pitch on Saturday.
Did you watch the game? Those were two great goals by City. No way was that a "collapse".
The Black Cats looked a bit tired at the end, but they played a great match.
Thanks for the draw with Spurs. I would have preferred you beat them but, you know...thanks all the same
