Should have had at least a point at the weekend. That said 11 v 11 we were not in the game.

Second half was much improved, but no points in the last two games is a worry.

I commiserate about deserving a point from the weekend. One breakdown saw us off, and our defense was solid (until we were behind late and had to throw bodies forward).

You were fully dominated the first half and 11 v 10 looked quite different. I really enjoyed the end of the game. Was very frantic. You could easily have had a point there.

Is it just me, or does it look like Sessengon has lost a step from last year?

Seemed like it could have just as easily been 4-0 Arsenal or 2-1 Sunday. Crazy.

Theo missed about 4 chances that could have gone in.

Don't like the firing personally. Don't know enough about Di Canio to say one way or another.

He has spent the last 3 days in a witch hunt by the British press for his political options... They he actually doesn't hold.

That said, he is a fruit loop. Stick his name in google images and you will get the idea.

Countdown to the PDC era in 5...4...3..2...1.....

I can't see anything other than a loss today but I just hope something positive comes out of it.

The other premier results this weekend are killing us.

Yeah, luck was not with you guys as far as other results. Eying your schedule, next week's derby match really is a must win for you guys. With our injury situation, you might just be able to.

Very, very disappointing result. I think the problem is that you lot needed it far, far more than we did. Tack on the exhaustion from the Europa League game, and I'm not surprised we lost. Had to bring Cabaye off, after all.

Fair win to you lot, too. Yeah, we got cheated out of a goal--man, do they have a problem with the assistant refs--disallowed a clear goal. Still, 3-1 is still a loss. Great goal by Greg Louganis in the first (thanks for choking the ball away in a dangerous spot, Jonas!). Excellent goal by Johnson in the second half--I guess defenses don't need to close out the guy with the ball any more.

Lots of penalty cries on both sides, but only one real claim either way, so that evened out. Some rough derby play, but it pretty much evened out. Di Canio was crazy silly--but Pardew gets that way too, so fair enough to him. Disappointing injury to Krull, which killed our tactical subs, but Elliot's just as good. I have no idea how Loug--I mean, Sessignon--got away without at the very least one yellow for simulation--blatant diving--but he managed it. The flop in the penalty area in the second half was the worst.

Oh well. You guys are sitting much better than you were yesterday. Fair win to you lot.

Still buzzing off the game. Watched it twice since.

It's a shame the moronic mags antics after the game have taken the headlines. Yet more national shame and by my count the 4th time they have smashed up their own city centre after a defeat. Muppets.

:biglaugh:

I'm proud of the passion, but hate the antics. Newcastle has a contingent of fans as goofy as the Raiders. You know, they aren't all like that, but they give the rest of them a really bad name.

Yeah, I've read a few stories about Sunderland fans being upset they aren't getting major credit/kudos. Eh, it doesn't matter in the least--the result does. Newcastle made it all the way to the last 8 in the Europa, which for them is a massive run, but they didn't get all kinds of praise for it. Everything I read kept bringing us back to the Premiership standings. Didn't dampen the fun I had watching the Europa League one bit.
