So is Jozy actually any good if we were to get him?

He is very effective if he gets reliable service. He has matured a great deal in the last 2 seasons, he isn't a speedster or a magician with the ball at his feet like Messi...he is a solidly built powerful striker though that is not going to get muscled off the ball.

I hope he does well, may have to get an Altidore Sunderland jersey soon.

It will suit you.

The more I have seen and read about his recent development in Holland suggests he could be the real deal. Not signed yet but hoping he does

Done deal.

Welcome the magic carpet Jozy. Could be a great signing.

I think it is as good as a signing that Jozy could ask for. EPL team, gaping hole up front etc. I see a good pairing up front with him and Fletcher. It will be interesting to see who in the midfield can consistently get the ball to Jozy.

Hopefully Sunderland is good enough to not be in the relegation hunt throughout the year.

He is our 7th signing this summer so PDC is setting his stall out early. Hard work ethic and get rid of some of our plodders.

If this Giaccherini signing comes off too then we could be looking good.

Losing the Mig was massive on a negative side though.

Great, so my Magpies are a mess, Sunderland's doing good business, and Altidore's now a kitten. Good God, I might puke.

I now hope Altidore never makes the U.S. squad again because of how absolutely pathetic he (hopefully) plays for Sunderland. Thanks a bunch, Jozy. Thanks an effing bunch.

Sunderland is getting an in form and confident striker. Jozy is playing great right now, no reason to think he can't carry that forward with him in to the season!

Wow, 3 second half goals on the road against Bosnia...very cool confident finishes too.

Agreed. I can easily see him getting 15+ goals in the premier league with Sunderland.

Yep. Which one are you on? Top telly and one of the few things that gets series linked in our house.

I eat puddings like Gregg Wallace to... 'that's laaaaavly'
Oh, we finished the 2012 season, I believe. I walk around imitating the announcer, "Ashe has made a bone marrow risotto with a corgette cream." (Yes, Ashe is from 2011). The skill challenges are super stressful.

Love being at home first day.

Might take some pictures for you all an post them on here through the day. Although my signal always drops inside the stadium, might be fun.
