Well they have to get one more player and Kerr says they are looking for a point guard so who would you guys like to see and who do you think would be best fit for the team and their current situation?

Well if youre looking for the best pg for the situation, you have to analyze the situation a bit deeper. What does a team that was just shaken up at the end of last season need after being shaken up again following a shaky start of the season?

A shakeup, of course!

A bought out Stephon Marbury.

I'd trade a second round pick for a veteran PG on another team's roster that is not being used. I think the Arizona Republic was speculating on a player like Damon Stoudemire who I believe is a FA.

What about those rumors going around about the Nash and Calderon trade what happens then? I don't think they should risk trading nash yet, its nash he isn't going to give up on a team just because his friend got traded and if he does then you can ship him out i'm sure many teams would be grateful to have him. I think this team needs another good passing pointgaurd who looks to pass first but is decent at the shot and defense. We have enough scorers now we need passers and someone to help gaurd the outside and slow down some of the elite pointgaurds because thats been our worst area this year Shaq and Amar'e are doing ok in the perimeter minus the bad rebounding for Amar'e during his little slump but with Singletary gone we need another defender at the PG spot. That was the only problem I had with this trade they should have kept Singletary he is worth more than that 2nd round draft pick.

Didn't Damon Stoudemire suck as a Spur? If my memory serves me, even Jacques Vaughn was playing before?

Hmm. Early rumor said Jason Williams retired just to avoid playing for the Clippers. He is still in very good shape and may return to play for a contender.

Jwill is much better than Damon Stoudamire in many way, his championship experience with Shaq is very valuable.

Jwill would be an awesome pickup. He'd fit in very well with this team, especially knowing Shaq. Can you imagine our bench?

Jwill
Barbs
Barnes
Dudley/Amundson
Lopez

STAT fills in for some center as well when shaq sits if Lopez is having a bad night.

Wow that's a pretty sad list... I guess JWill would be the best guy available if he can even still play (at least he's used to playing with Shaq). Maybe we need to look for another trade for a veteran PG not getting time on another team and use that Charlotte 2nd rd pick.

If this is true, Jason Williams certainly would be my pick if the Suns are going strictly FA. I do think some team may part with a third PG that is just riding the bench. Maybe trading Tucker would get them a better PG.

Trading Tucker might get us a better PG, but I doubt it since he's still injured and hasn't played this year or much last year. We'd still need to sign someone else to get our roster to 13 players (unless it was a 2-1 trade).

The easiest thing the Suns can do right now is sign a free agent, but I think the best move is adding Sergio near the deadline, especially if Portland doesnt package him for a SF.

You are probably correct. I'm just trying to think of options that might be available to get a better PG. I heard one of Kerr's interviews the other day. He said something to the effect that trade proposals flow through his office on a regular basis. There must be something out there regarding a veteran PG. Sometimes just a second round pick can get it done.

I know this will not happen, but let me dream, ok?

Suns send:
Shaq

Knicks send:
David Lee
Stephon Marbury

New lineup would be:

C Amare/Lopez
PF Lee/Dudley/Amundson
SF Hill/Barnes
SG JRich/LB
PG Nash/Starbury/Dragic

It solves the backup PG situation and run and gun would be back! No more Shaq clogging things up and slowing things down. No more having a center miss 20 games and having to rely on Lopez. No more mismatched pieces etc.

Now I admit the 'D' wouldn't be too hot, but boy oh boy it would be a fun team to watch.

But like I said, it won't happen, it would mean Kerr having to admit the Shaq trade was a blunder and I doubt that happens.

Another early exit in the playoffs. Shaq with Jason Richardson as a perimeter offensive guy who can create his own shot can be deadly.

Shaq is playing well and Marbury is just not playing. I'd like to keep Shaq. However I would consider Marbury for the veteran minimum (if bought out) if he approached the Suns about it. There is so much downside with Marbury especially since he has such a dominant personality. He would really have to want to play for the Suns and play backup to Nash. I just don't see it happening.

The Suns aren't winning a title with or without Shaq in my opinion, so they may as well have a fun team and give themselves flexibility money wise.

Smush will come in and play defense, but he is down the list on guys the Suns should seriously consider, including trades.

The Suns could always go after DJ Strawberry again. Houston released him before the season started.
