Suns lose 90-107. :(

Better play from the Suns in the 2nd half. Too bad they didn't give a crap in the 1st half.

The suns played like crap in the 1st half & they got brutalized by the refs. We did get a couple of calls at the end of the 4th qtr though to make things look "even".

It's amazing that Lebron can fumble a ball out of bounds with no one around him and the ref with the best view gets the call correct as Suns ball, but Bob Delanie who was standing behind Shaq and a bunch of other players (and completely away from the play) can overrule him and give the ball to the Cavs. Lebron's "Amazing" block on JRich's fast break layup was a goaltend. Shaq can elbow Frye (who had inside positon) in the head to get offensive rebounds or throw Amare to the floor with the foul on Amare.

This game was decided before the the jumpball.

Positive note: Dragic was aggressive & played well.

That was the supposedly playoff basketball. Refs were letting a lot of hacks. But we beat ourselves in the old-fashioned manner: Nash gets figured out by the defense, but still we rely on his dribbling that leads to nowhere but turnovers and shots under pressure, we are not used to it, we don't go to alternatives or have any, and Nash ran out of gas leaving us with a big hole.

At least, Gentry learns from his own mistakes. Last season, he'd have put Nash back when we cut it to 12 late with 4 min to play. I can't stress it more but we need to have more plays that features Nash as the shooter afters running through screens without the ball. Or, play him more like Stockton. Playing Robin ahead of Lou and Collins was a mistake that contributed to the loss, but it's understandable that he wanted to give Robin chance to play to justify Kerr's pick at draft.

Frye had a great game, under the radar, on the road. Gentry wisely let him off the burden of nailing the 3s early and often. This paid off. Hope he will do the same thing with Lopez.

FFS, stop blaiming the refs. This lost was squarely on the Suns' shoulders, as was last nights. Something isn't clicking with them right now, and IMO, it looks like they just don't give a **** anymore. Doesn't make any sense why they are acting they way they are.

It's one thing for a team to have a slump, but something is SERIOUSLY wrong with the team right now. This isn't normal, no matter how much some of you like to scream to the world that we suck. We're not world-beaters, but the talent on this team is good enough to at least compete with Cleveland and beat NY easily. It can't be the loss of Barbosa, although that is the only thing different between the team now and the team when they were winning all the time.

If the Suns are going to keep playing like this, they're in for some rough times.

The schedule up ahead is,

Sat, Dec 5 Sacramento
Sun, Dec 6 @ LA Lakers
Tue, Dec 8 @ Dallas
Fri, Dec 11 Orlando
Sat, Dec 12 @ Denver
Tue, Dec 15 San Antonio
Thu, Dec 17 @ Portland

With Cleveland again, Lakers, and Boston before the month's over.

That's 9 possible blowouts. No.. that can't happen, our team has to get better.

Nah, I don't think anything is wrong with them. They underestimated the Knicks yesterday, while the Knicks picked that game to be hot. The Suns must have missed the Knicks/Magic game because they almost offset the Magics too.
The Suns have almost always sucked on a back-to-back even back to the D;Antoni days. Playing against a contender with Nash playing into the 4th quarter yesterday is a recipe for disaster. It is no secret that if you limit Nash's effectiveness you have a good chance of beating this team, since we no longer have an effective inside out game. it is going to happen a lot come second half of the season. It will be interesting to see how Gentry and Nash adjust.

I think the Suns lost their chemistry when Lopez started playing. It seems it particularly effected Dudley's play. Dudley was almost a one man defensive team there for awhile. He doesn't seem to have the same fire as before.

can i say that Lopez sucks?? he was getting pushed around by Z for basketball's sake!! of all people.

mistake playing lopez and clark so many minutes tonight. i wanted Lou out there, he's proven and we need solid play coming off of last nights lost. We were on the verge of a comeback, then clark decided to become our shooting and point guard.

i must note that it seems we have huge problems with long teams. we struggled against the lakers(gasol/bynum/odom), knicks(lee, harrington) and now cavs(shaq,Z, verejao).

pretty physical out there, kind of biased a bit but whats new?
we shot ourselves out of the game too, too many jump shots and too many misses.

Amare's newest quotes saying he wants to play for a contender
+ Amare's lackluster or boneheaded play at times
= broken team chemistry?

The only thing I can imagine. I mean, when everything's going well and you are 14-3 and one of your average impact players so far wants to get paid max. and starts talking about other possibilites - I think it can piss some people off. It's just not right when the team is on a roll and they're having fun again. The more wins, the better chance in the playoffs (at home).

Reminds me a little bit of a guy named Shawn Marion...
If you think, how tough he really can be, coming off some real serious injuries - it's just unreal how bad his attitude and defensive work is at times...

I hope he can leave so we can become a contender. He sucks. I rather have David Lee at least he can grab a rebound.

The SUNS have chosen to make their fun n gun bed.
If the jumpshots aren't falling they can fall back on plan B which is getting stops, controlling the glass and getting high% shots to climb back into the....oh wait.....nvrmind.

The Suns are like a doughnut with a huge whole in the middle. It has surprised me that other teams have taken so long to exploit this weakness.

Still not worried. I'm sticking with my original thought. At best this is a 50-55(ish) win team who may sneak into the second round. So far they are exceeding my expectations.

However, Amare is not a max player. Doubt he's back next season.

Yea as frustrating as this is, the truth is we are a pretender who sometimes play like contenders depending on the night and how the shooting percentages go. Defense wins championships, and this year's Suns team is never going to prove that. Have fun though, lots of fun regular season games along with agonizing, blow your friggin brains out, games like the last two.

If the Suns were smart, they'd move Amare for a nice pick and a player. Let him wear his goggles and play no defense somewhere else.

Wouldn't they also need another team to cooperate? The Suns have been trying to trade Stoudemire for two years.

A playoff team might bite at the trading deadline. The worst case scenario is the other team has to pay Amare for the remainder of this season and possibly next. I know Amare will cost a chunk of change next season but if he doesn't opt out he will at least be an expiring contract then. I would normally say the Suns need draft picks included in a trade but the Suns are dreadful at drafting.

Atlanta lost to Knicks at home today. Mavericks also lost to the Grizzlies. It is the NBA, anything can happen in an 82 games season.
Or maybe they are having chemistry issues too :sarcasm:

Yes. Say it PLEASE. There is no use for Gentry to play Lopez, just to make Kerr's draft choice look good. Its only gunna make the team worse.

In the last game, yes, not too bad in his first game of the season. You never know, he may earn his minutes this season, how else will Gentry know if he didnt play him. Plus most of the players sucked pretty bad in the last two games anyway.
