Dwayne Wade and Josh Howard are 2 of the best defenders in draft - can both play 2 positions. Howard is ranked low on NBA Draft.net and isn't athlete Marion and Stoudemire are but depending on workouts/height - (6'7 height and solid workouts) could be solid picks at PG/SG - SG/SF. Two positions of need.

NBADraft.net just updated their site again. They have reece Gaines at the #17 spot and Zarko Carbarkapa has fallen to the #23 spot. Sofoklis has moved up to #14.

I just found this nice article on prospects.

I have seen Nikagbatse in quite some games for the german national team. The comparision to Dajuan Wagner is pretty good he is actually more like Baron Davis in my opinion.

He looks like legit 6'4 has nice athleticism as he drove baseline and dunked on Yao in last years World Championships. His handles are very good, he is actually in Nike freestyle commercial in europe and his jumpshot was also good when I saw him.

I think we should definately try to get him in the second round. Of course if he works out Phoenix would surely get more coverage in germany :)

Leandrinho Barbosa
6'3 190lbs

28.2 ppg 7.0apg 4.2rpg 2.5spg 0.7bpg .575FG% .44.73pt% 83.3FT%

And that would have to be stats in games that are player 10 minutes per quarter and assists are generally lower in FIBA leagues.

Sorry guys but draft fever is slowly catching fire already :)

If Jarvis Hayes falls to the Suns should we take him?

He is listed as 6'7 swingman and is likely the best shooter in the entire draft.

Shooting better than 50% from the field in college and better than 40 from behind the arc. 18.3ppg 4rpg 2apg

I think Chris Thomas, Barbosa, Hayes, Shortsianitis, Delfino, Gaines, Pietrus and the low ranked highschoolers like Lang and Ebi all sound very interessting and promising.

Sofoklis is still 17

Based on what you can see in that short video clip and read I would compare Sofoklis to Zach Randolph when he entered the league.
Sofoklis might be 1 inch taller than Randolph.

ESPN Insider said today that we were over in Europe today trying to check out Maciej Lampe. Right now, he is projected as the #6 player in the draft--the 2nd foreignor after Darko.

My question is, why bother? Yes, he could always slip lower, but with the #17, is he really a viable possibility?

They don't even have him being drafted on nbadraft.net. Seems surprising as he seems to be a very good high school prospect. Perhaps shades of the Eddy Curry/Tyson Chandler/Kwame Brown fiasco of two years ago?

I think they thought he would go to Kansas. I think I read somewhere that he visited Kansas on Friday or so.

They have his name in the 2004 draft pool on nbadraft.net

A few years ago (1968) the suns made a big mistake when they drafted William Bedford. He fell to them on the 6th pick and everyone was shocked that he was not drafted earlier.
They made the comment that they did not scout him or try him out. They said this would never happen again.
(same year they drafted Hornacek)

I believe this is why they are going to europe to scout the players that will be in the draft that have may have a chance to drop to them.
(I do not think Maciej Lampe will be the 6th pick in the draft!!)

Al Bianchi said a couple years later,
How did we know that William Bedford was the laziest young man in the USA. (something like that)

The suns will not draft a player that they do not bring to Phx. and try out............unless, it is a foreign player that is not coming over for a couple years.
The last few years I have watched who they bring in knowing they will probably draft one of them.

Good comparison based on that short video clip.

BTW,slinslin:

Anderson Varejao, Mickael Pietrus- What the Suns should NOT look at, IMO
