It is the theme of this whole damn board to complain and bitch and moan about contracts.

How much do you get paid a year? What do you do? All he does is throw a ball, and he makes $6 million a year. Come on. These athletes are idiots. Well acctually the Gm's are idiots for paying so much!

LOL...should have had a comma in there.

Indiana is putting on a basketball clinic in the third quarter. Meanwhile the Suns are showing how not to pass in the NBA.

Actually I don't care what his contract is.

I was more looking at his shooting and defense.

BUT...I have been spoiled by good point guard play in Phoenix.

I agree with Eric though that the Suns must be showcasing him in hopes that someone will take him off their hands.

Hard to showcase a lemon though

20 - 6 Turnovers
17 - 7 Fouls

Pretty sad, considering in all other aspects of the game we're not doing too bad. We're shooting almost 44% from the field, which is good for us, but unfortunately it looks like we're not really defending anybody. :(

Funny because we're controlling the boards and are playing them pretty even in everything else.

Well, the guy is big. See the way he kept two guy from getting to JJ? Has Harvey gotten in the game?

Yeah, unfortunately I had to abandon that theory several games ago, because his level of play (in the games I've been able to watch, which doesn't count tonight's) has been pretty embarrassing. So now I think they're playing him because they feel obliged to try to get some value out of him, and also it's not like Barbosa can play 40+ minutes a game.

We are showcasing Googs in that the "buyer" wanted to see whether Googs could play 5, 7, or 10 min a game if they get him. The assessment would determine how much cash we'd have to give Utah to make the Googs for Clark trade. As he looks now, the Suns bargaining position has not improved but also not damaged.

I was not hopeful that the Suns would be able to handle the Pacers one day after a tough game in Atlanta. The Suns seemed really slow and against the Pacers that's deadly.

I know I sound like a broken record, but the Suns despirately need someone who can guard the post without help. Having to double O'Neal left the Pacer's shooters wide open the entire game. Miller just killed the Suns, but Harringon and others were also effective from the outside. Also, the Pacers went backdoor repeatedly.

I hope the Suns mental errors were due to being tired. The Suns overall stats were pretty good, but 23 turnovers were killer. White's stupid passing was inexcuseable, but there were innumerable others.

It was sad that JJ got into foul trouble, especially on that phantom 3rd foul that took him out of the game. He shot 10 of 15 from the field inspite of being guarded by arguably the best defensive SF in the NBA. Unfortunately, he had 5 turnovers caused by Artest's defense. Hope this was a "learning experience". :(

It was a solid game by Marion and Casey seemed to do well, although he only took 6 shots (hit 3), and grabbed 4 rebounds.

At least Lampe finally got to play 16 minutes and made a couple of baskets. He showed great hustle getting down on the break for a layup. It's a start.

Aside from the score, this was a good game for the Suns. Mixed in with the bonehead mistakes they ran their offense fairly well against a tough defensive team. They worked the ball inside more than they have in a good while.

I'd call it a landmark game in one way - this is the first NBA game that Lampe contributed something positive. You'll want to remember this one. Young and raw he is but he has a decent feel for the game and his footwork is good. He cut off guys on the baseline very nicely twice - something his older teammates don't often do. He blocked out on the boards and didn't fumble the ball when it came to him. I'm sure everyone saw him finish on the break but what impressed me was that he caught a rather tough pass on the run and got it up quick. Jake or Jahidi either one would have likely fumbled it out of bounds. He's not shy about putting the ball up and his stroke looks good. D'Antoni should definitely give him a regular slot in the rotation very soon - it's folly to do anything but bring him along as fast as he can handle it.

Another positive note - Zarko is rounding back into form. He drove the ball into the middle three or four times which he has seemed reluctant to do since his injury. He shot with more confidence, too.

Another positive about the game I forgot to mention was that the Suns cut way down on their flying leaps at guys on the perimeter. It didn't play a big role in this game as the Pacers were hitting very well from deep but it was very good to see all the same. Actually a couple of flying leaps might have helped a lot... say, Jahidi leaping high and landing on Harrington and on Reggie.

If I could sell 20,000 tickets per day at $50 per ticket, for people to watch me answer technical phone calls then I am sure that I would make a couple mill per year, but alas my job is not that interesting.

The reason these athletes make the money that they do isn't because they are any more special then anyone else. It is because they have a product that sells. The GM's are making a return on their investment or they wouldn't pay what they do. It is the cold hard facts folks. Fireman, teachers, police officers are all more important to our society but they don't have a product that generates the kind of public interest that sports does so it is time to accept that these athletes make this money no matter how much we complain about it and just enjoy the sport.
