We have a very good roster, no need to doubt about it. Whatever happened last season, D'antoni is the one hold most of the responsibility. He never worked with a true star center like Shaq, and he has absolutely no love of slow half-court game.

Our success this season is heavily on new coach's shoulder. Porter has a lot of NBA playoff experience both as player and coaching staff. Hopefully, he knows how to take this team to next level.

hoopshype is reporting that ben gordon said he is about to part ways with chicago. so if the suns were/are looking into him, it should be announced soon where he'll be headed.

I'd be vastly more interested in a deal for Iggy than for Ben Ben Gordon. I'm not much of a fan of Gordon.

im ok with a LB for gordon trade

I don't see the point in trading LB for Gordon, they're the same player. They're both undersized SG who can only score.

The only upside I see to a LB/Gordon swap is that Gordon may be mentally tougher than LB. It'll be interesting to see how LB reacts with the new staff.

Sometimes, u just change for a change. After D'Antoni's departure, we were supposed to make a little change to the old core, which hasn't happened yet. Base on present situation, Barbosa and Diaw r the most obviously choice to go.

Of course, it has to be a right deal on table. The biggest unsettled matter now is Dragic, which is holding up any possible trade negotiation. Because if we don't get Dragic this season, we would have to find a real PG in trade.

But if Dragic comes, I can't think out a reason why not Gordon. Should I say this way, can he make things worse?

much worse. he wants twice as much money. he turns the ball over nearly 3 times as much as l.b. he has a huge ego. he can definitely make things worse. idk where you get the idea that you make a change just to make a change. give me one example of a team successfully doing that. there are none. if anything, you risk your team chemistry by making such a move.

I have to be honest, after watching Barbosa's 34.5 FG%, 22.2% for 3 in the heart breaking loss to the Spurs, I've been pretty much in a "whoever else" mood for months.

Well, in another hand I have to agree that Ben Gordon is not a good player to get. He wants way too much for a 6th man. Let's find a better trade target.

Gordon is definitely a much better player than LB. BG was the main scoring option on the Bulls and got 3 times more defensive attention than LB who was the 4th option. BG's potential is in the league of Iverson and Arenas.

That being said, he'd be a difficult fit for the Suns right now playing next to Nash. Not to mention his contract demand.

Why is it that the Diaw-haters think he's absolutely worthless, but have no problem attaching a high value to him in trade suggestions?

Also funny that all the same people stress "defense" and would be happy with a front line of nocioni, and 3 fouling machines(stat, shaq, lopez). Suns management isnt that stupid, they wont trade away their best all around defender big(he defends the pick and roll) for a guard who cant defend(gordon is a "post up boy" for every '2' in th league), and a SF that cant guard any position straight up except "opposing stiff"(nocioni). The suns are weak on the front line defensively due to foul trouble(2 most prolific foulers in the NBA, stat, shaq), and a rookie(lopez) who comitted 10 fouls per 48mins in the SUMMER league! The suns couldnt even resign skinner, so who else do you guys think the suns will get in FA? Maybe they could replace diaw with voskuhl, if he's available. Diaw and his 12.1 PER defensive rating(his assignments offensive efficiency), cannot be traded for anything but a front line player who can replace what he brings on defense. I know many suns fans have a hate/hate relationship with diaw, and that is why they propose such silly unbalanced deals that would leave the suns as every other teams beaaach down low with just a hint of foul trouble(hint: amare and shaq WILL foul alot this year(and shaq will not play 70 games), and lopez is a big ? until other wise proven.

So we get rid of the coach who doesnt emphasize defense, hire a guy who does and trade defensive players for one dimensional offensive ones. If Kerr reads this board he must be laughing his a__ off!

I dont think so. Ben Gordon is an outstanding pull up jump shooter, and perimeter shooter. But Iverson and arenas can finish in the lane area, their games are much more balanced, so they will get good shots on their own. Gordon is a mediocre finisher in the lane area, and because no one fears his penetration moves, he forces shots at times over the defense when he is(typically) overplayed. I see gordon as a better fit for this suns team(starved for outside shooting) than LB(Ben is a better outside shooter in the crunch). LB definitely has a bigger upside as he will be a more balanced player and better defender in the future with his much better length and speed. I would actually like Ben Gordon at 6-7M/per in a sign and trade for LB, but at what he expects, fuget about it!

IMO, if the best the Suns can get from trading LB is Gordon, they should stay put. I view adding Gordon as an expensive lateral move. The Suns should be living and breathing PGs at this point in time.
