Perhaps I'll just now post what I appreciate or respect about each of those players.

Jordan:
-Was not a man-child like later superstars, but manly in all his traits, even his ugly ones (the greed and the hyper-competitiveness and the bullying of teammates).

lebron james:
-Seems to have good intentions in general. I can't call him a jerk on or off the court.

Kobe Bryant:
-Seems to have straightened out after the rape accusation. (Why should I care what his motivation was?) Behaved apparently as a devoted family man off the court, and stayed out of trouble. Was a jerk strictly on the basketball court.

Why does he trigger you so much?

Name me one reporter who’s never wrong? You can’t

It’s all just fun
He doesn't trigger me. It's people who go out of there way to elevate what he really is that I think it's hilarious. Show me where I EVER said a reporter is never wrong. You know the difference. Look at real reporters and what they do. They (not always) give more detail and put their reps on the line.

They don't put out vague language all the time to play both sides or delete Tweets when they are called out.

Name me a reporter that deletes his Tweets like Flex has?

KD or not Flex is the very first one to start the “Superstar” talk and that was back in May.

He’s not perfect no one ever is, but credit where credit is due

He tweeted out the Suns would add a superstar like right after they lost to Dallas. He jumped the gun and tried throwing something out literally as soon as he could so he could take credit if it happened.

Most here were discussing it before the Pelicans series was over. I'm not going to go back to those game threads though to credit whoever the first person was to suggest we need to find another star though.

That’s not what he tweeted at all

I’ve been here a long time and I’m pretty good at getting into discussions here and I don’t remember any talk about us blowing up this team or trading away guys for stars during that pelicans series

People were in panic mode about us losing that series and were saying things like we need a legit backup PG or make some trades to get rid of guys like Crowder. It happens all the time. People on these forums are very in the moment game to game. I think that is what he means and it's true.

No one said we were going to, just that we should.

What did he tweet then? He said the Suns were in a position to add a star this off-season. He didn't say how, who, or what it would cost. It was super vague. Vague enough he could claim he was right whether it happened or it didn't.

Since we all have talked about how the Suns should only move Ayton for a star of some sort, we've all basically predicted the same thing.

This is from the game 7 thread vs the Mavericks. You proposed a few ways to get a star, here's one of them. I guess you were ahead of Flex.
I am 100% guilty of being in the moment too sometimes when it comes to the Cards or Suns. Most people here are.

P.S. @Finito, you should start a podcast. I will subscribe.

Honestly I’m 100% out on the Cardinals after last year. I’ve barely even looked at that forum. It’s taken a long time and a lot of heart break but I’ve reached the point where I just don’t care about them anymore

I think we're all guilty of that. However no one here does it trying to build a following on social media like Flex. 1Sun would try to make claims for clout but other than him almost everyone will admit when they're wrong or that they're guilty of being in the moment when they say something.

Lol, clearly you haven't read all the stories about teammates wanting to tear him apart...the hagiography of Kobe is pretty hilarious these days.
Well, I would be happy to instead say "as a basketball player." I have no evidence that he was an awful person off the court after the alleged rape. But I wouldn't have any problem believing teammates hated Bryant. Of course they would.

As for the alleged rape, I have no idea what happened and will not pretend I do; and anyone who does is presumptious. But in contrast, that's another thing I appreciate about lebron james: as far as I've ever heard, he leaves other women alone. I've heard that he claims to be Christian. It's plausible.

I know a podcaster, who will remain nameless, that gaslighted himself into career using the same tactics. He is legit now but back then? Not so much.

Lebron is clearly a much more civic minded individual than MJ or Kobe.

It's pretty easy to piggy back on other journos and make up vague stuff that can be subjectively satisfied or add insight to other reports.

I look for who breaks concrete news first.

It's usually one of the national media guys like Shams Charania or Adrian Wojnarowski.

You should listen to radio more often. Woj admitted one time during an interview on KGME he gets lots of info from local guys in many markets. He said sometimes they can't break news that he can because he doesn't have to worry about comprising sources. He gets the info from them, tries to verify and if it sounds legit, he runs with it. Woj in turn does interviews for those stations.

Who cares who gets the news first if it isn't distributed?

That's the rub. I have heard local guys same numerous times vague statement like something is happening or there is something to it but they can't say. Likely because if they do it comprises that source and they will never be able to use them again. It's a fine line all these guys walk. Even how they say something can reveal a source. I don't envy these guys. You leak it to a nation guy who can run with it? There is no direct connection. Makes sense. Many of these national guys do a ton of interviews on local stations. There is an obvious relationship.

The good stuff is usually on podcasts both local and national. I listen to this these plus read worthwhile articles and tweets.

Too often local radio runs off speculation. If I know a guest is coming on I want to hear, I definitely listen.

I'm very much into media but I'm selective about content.

Podcasts run with way more speculation and rumor. Most of them admit it because they don't have the resources of a real media guy or the connections. As Hoop said most of them are just repeating stuff they already heard. Podcasts are closer to tabloids than anything else. They know rumor drives audiences. That's why radio get way more legitimate interviews while most podcasters do not.

Unless local radio has guests, they are usually running with the flavor of the day.
