The Suns have a chance for redemption tonight against the Raptors after their landslide loss in Detroit or face a further slide down that slippery slope where they may not recover. I know it's early in the season and the Suns are only 7-9, but this may be a pivotal game. I do not believe this will be an easy game for the Suns even though the Raptors record is 3-13. Game time is 5PM Arizona time.

Paul Coro at azcentral gives further information about tonight's game in link below.

This is one of those few teams that might actually be as bad as we are. They have a horrible record but like Detroit, they've had a much tougher schedule than we've had. I hope we blow these guys out. I know it was never proved conclusively but I don't think there's any real doubt that their head coach, Dwight Casey, is the guy who paid Chris Mills dad when he was at Kentucky. He was probably just funneling money from someone else but still, it doesn't speak well of his ethics and I'm sick of watching what people like him have turned college athletics into.

The Suns are playing well right now but I like oxygen too much to hold my breath. Maybe I'll just cross my fingers.:)

Is it just me or does it seem like we step out of bounds more than any other team? It seems like every time we set up for a three and decide to take it to the hole instead we step on that line.

Well, you might as well go back to breathing, we've stopped playing defense.

Steve

So true. I guess P.J. Tucker's fiery play early in the season was an aberration.

Or travel when a player has a wide open shot and decides not to take it.

I feel like Morris does this almost every time he catches it on the outside and luckily gets away with it most of the time.

Good decision by Morris to dunk that ball.

It's wore thin on me for sure.

He makes some good points but it seems more often than not he just talks to re-live his glory days when he played great defense and never made a bad decision. And if he tells us one more time that "that's automatic, the refs will call that every time" I think might just vomit. If refs call the foul every time a defender touches the arm of the shooter then how come every shooter that ever lived complains to the refs about a foul not being called. The refs are looking at the ball and hand; smart defenders have been using their elbows to foul shooters for at least as long as I've been watching the game.

I don't know why that wasn't a T on Bargnani. That wasn't a basketball play.

I think that shot was still in the shooters hand when the light went on.

Well the referees called a foul prior to the shot.

This is why I would like to see Gentry fired. Too many times the Suns come out looking mediocre against awful teams. We come out unprepared and that is the HC's fault.

And please don't try to give me some BS about how the Raptors are way more talented that the Suns. Their not.

Are you going to say this against every opponent? I agree, Toronto isn't much different than we are. This is a team we can beat but I don't think they are one of the 2 or 3 teams that fall in the category of "should beat". We're both pretty mediocre but the betting edge would go to the home team.

Well the referees called a foul prior to the shot.

I don't see how that matters. Eddie seemed to think it was correct but I've never heard of continuation extending past the clock. If the foul occurred before the shot and time ran out before the shot left his hand, I would have expected the shot to not count and two free throws awarded instead. I would have been positive about that except the refs know the rule book better than I do and they gave him the basket and one so I don't know.
