Is this a good move for the Suns? I have not followed the Suns very closely over the last several years and many on this board are a lot more knowledgable about the Suns than me. What value do you see Williams brings to the Suns? Thanks.

I think if the report is true and Williams agrees to sign it, it easily can become a bargain deal.

If Felicio gets a 4 year/32 mil. contract, 20-25 mil. for Alan Williams is a steal.

Alan Williams was asked to step up into the rotation and flat out provided a non-stop motor, high intensity/passion .. and an ability to score/rebound even in situations where he was undersized. I truly believe he is for sure a bench player with the possibility of providing starter minutes when needed. Yes, he is worth it.

This contract would be an absolute steal for the Suns.

Sign it Alan so the Suns can match.

Suns have offered Alan Williams a 4-year deal.

Lets hope the Suns offer and the Knicks offer are the same or the Suns offer is slightly better.
I want Alan back especially for a reasonable price.

This is a good move. Young guy, hustles a lot, which becomes infectious when he is out on the floor. Hopefully, he signs it soon, but I bet his agent is shopping this offer around to try and get more money for Alan. His family is here, so I hope that sways the issue to sign sooner rather than later.

Suns can't go wrong keeping AW. Whether he's starting or coming off the bench for as little as 8-10 min a game he's going to be a positive asset.

For context, Miles Plumlee is owed $12.4 million over each of the next three years.

I do not think this contract will stand. Someone will out bid it.

I think we should sign Len too. Trade Tyson.

How in the world does this happen? Unbelievable.
Wrong question. Where does this happen?

Milwaukee.

Miles Plumlee
Mirza Teletovic (3/31 million) 6 points 2.3 rebounds
Greg Monroe (3/51 million) 11 pts 6 rebounds
John Henson (4/48 million) 6 points 4 rebounds

Based on Gambo's tweets it sound like the Suns have offered Williams a 4 year contract valued between 20-24 million dollars.

I wonder if they have an offer on the table with Len other than the qualifying offer.

The Suns go about their business so quietly. I want news!

Was it ever revvealed what they offered Len last offseason to extend? I can't see them offering that or more now. Perhaps that's why we've heard nothing. His potential isn't as valuable as it was a year ago. We've seen who he is, for better or worse.

I don't think the Suns offered an extension to Len last offseason or at least I don't recall. However, I like him for depth at center on a reasonable contract.

The Suns will need to decide if they keep Barbosa on Monday.

The veteran guard has a $4 million contract for next season, but only $500,000 is guaranteed. If Barbosa remains on the roster past Monday, his entire contract becomes guaranteed.

Barbosa, 34, just completed his 14th NBA season. In 67 games last season with the Suns, he averaged 6.3 points in 14.4 minutes off the bench. He shot 43.9 percent from the field and 35.7 from 3-point range.

Blegh! For how much and more importantly why [regarding Len]?

I won't be shocked if no one outbids Len's qualifying offer with is about 5.5 million.

I wonder if Denver would like to have Len just to keep Jokic company... we could trade him straight up for Mason Plumlee and absord the salary differential. Assuming Nugs are interested in cost cutting. Okay, okay toss in a Miami pick.

Where do you come up with the Knicks as suitors for Williams? I haven't seen anything and you're the only one mentioning them in this thread.

Appreciate it.

I wish the moratorium was shorter because it's rare that restricted free agents agree to deals prior to the 7 day waiting period because that just gives their original team more time to plan. Thankfully the time to match has been reduced to 3 days/72 hours. I remember it being much longer in the early 2000's, I want to say it was 15 days for the original team to match a deal. I suspect that's why we haven't heard much about Len or Williams. It's good to know we've made an offer to Williams though.

I have read several articles and tweets about the Knicks being interested in Alan Williams. Here is a link to an article at azcentral below. Offset has kindly provided another. Thankfully, as you note, the match has been reduced to 3 days.

Hang on friends! :)
