Suns trade for Beal

He's not coming back as he can't. His salary was fully guaranteed in order to match the Beal salary coming in. So he's on the books for $30m this coming season to Washington. He can be waived and stretched or bought out but the deal is essentially taking place next NBA year due to how salaries are worked. That's part of the reason Washington is looking to flip him, they have time to make something happen as they aren't staring down a deadline like the Suns were.

It will be interesting to see if Beal can play team ball with KD and Book. KD was an easy fit. Beal might not be.

Interestingly, if Ayton could be convinced just to play D and rebound, this could be a very good team. Next move will be fascinating. Might be Ayton for a role player.

I can see a C+ or a B- because we are in a tough spot financially. Like it's said in that piece, the 4 main Suns earn enough to exceed the luxury tax. That's a tough pill to swallow. Everyone is signed for the next 3 seasons as well so the only hope of financial relief is a cap bump.

As I saw it, the Suns were already locked into the next several seasons without much ability to make moves.

If they realistically wanted to remain a contender, about their only response was to slam the pedal to the metal and go for it. Fortunately, the Suns had just such an option. I didn't see this trade coming at all, much less keeping Ayton as well.

This trade is a very risky business decision, even though the potential upside is very high. We need to make sure that all 3 are healthy come playoff time.

Have you seen that move Speed? If so.. Basically what you’re saying is like when they were on the subway going fast and the brakes weren’t work. So Keanu Reeves says to speed up instead of finding a way to slow down.

I think the moment we made the KD we were fully going all in. If it doesn’t happen the next couple of years we will have to pay for it after that. I am on board. Lets do it.

I hit an ice slick heading towards Phoenix a number of years ago, and my vehicle was totally out of control heading towards a steep dropoff.

ESPN are clowns. If the Lakers had dumped Westbrook to the Wizards for Beal, ESPN would be shouting about what geniuses the Lakers front office were. They are full of it.

I’ve never been a Beal fan but they got him for essentially nothing that would’ve helped us going forward. The Suns were going over the 2nd apron eventually so the contract isn’t that big of a deal. I’d sign up for the Schroeder, PatBev and Crowder types right now. Bring back Jock.

That's probably just a courtesy to Paul. He doesn't have a no trade clause, so I'm guessing that means he can't hold up the trade.
