A Minny fan had us trading Tyson for Teague and Dieng.

Just so we all know. That is basically trading a max free agent for Teague. No thanks.

I really don't know much about Teague but if I were confident he'd be an above average starting point guard, I'd make the deal.

FWIW, Evan Sidery is tweeting that he thinks the Suns are in on the Butler deal that he is certain is about to go down.

From the Adrian Wojnarowski‏ tweet. The Suns may be interested in Tyus Jones. This makes more sense to to the Suns.

I'm guessing Jones will come to the Suns if the trade happens.

Maybe the Suns give up the Bucks pick (or another first rounder) for Jones as a sweetener for another team willing to take on salary like the Kings.

The Kings do not have a first round pick in 2019 and are willing to take on salary.

:crossing fingers:

One of the reasons to get rid of Teague for Dragic, is that Minnesota is probably looking to play Jones more and they think they can shift Dragic to the 2. We've seen this tried before, and it didn't work too well, but Minnesota doesn't seem to know what they are doing.

I'm sure Dragic would be thrilled at the idea. LOL

A part of me thinks Igor wants Dragic. I'm not sure how that would work. Dragic would give the Suns a jump start this season as the two know each other well.

I'm good with Teague if all he costs us is Warren. People keep talking about leaving the powder dry for next summer's FA, but reality is McD has never shown the ability to get even close to a premiere FA, overpaid for Ariza and even if this team makes strides this year (which I believe they will), they won't be big enough to lure a big big time FA this summer who we'll need the money for.

So, might as well get a PG who can run a team, help the team grow and hope that the talent already on it blossoms into a dominant group (which they have the makings of being if they all reach their potential).

Um. I don't know. Trade a max free agent for Teague. Not sure I want to do that. But Teague is interesting. I am on the fence on this one.

What free agent do you see the Suns legitimately having a shot with?

More from Sidery. McDonough and Jones are not at practice.

We have a decent to even average year this season, and we could conceivably in the conversation on all of the high-level point guards available next summer. Easily.

Perhaps. But from what I’ve read, Irving is most likely heading to the Knicks. That leaves Walker, who I’d prefer to have over Teague. But he just came out and said he wants to stay with Charlotte and he’s “confident” Charlotte will re-sign him. Who’s the next best free agent point guard? Bledsoe?

LOL... if Bledsoe ended up being a FA target here ever... well, just shoot me now. :D

I honestly believe Rubio will be the more realistic target... if he hits the market. If not, I could see Brogdon or Dinwiddie. I have the feeling any big name FAs are more pipe dreams next year. Maybe a few more seasons down the road if we can get on an upward arc, but probably not next season.

Nah. We are going to get a decent pg now and then sign KD next summer. After getting his rings he gets props for taking a team to the finals that had never been there before.

It makes a lot of sense for the Suns to get their PG now given the opportunity.

I think Rubio stays with the Jazz as his career has taken an upswing.

Hopefully Okobo and Melton show something this season.

Yeah this isn't the 90's Colangelo Suns. I don't think Phoenix is nearly as attractive a free agent destination compared to LA, NY, Miami, and teams with a history of winning.

I think the Suns MIGHT be a free agent destination, not next year (19-20 season) but the year after (20-21) season. The Suns are going to have to start winning again before anyone will touch this team.

The Suns are all ears. I'm sure the Kings are another option as a 3rd team.

Well, Rubio is a bit younger, and has a good connection with Igor. But he is no sure thing to be available next year.

I guess you can look at Teague as a bird in the hand. Although he could conceivably opt out next year, too. It probably wouldn't be the best idea in a glutted FA market, but he could.

Catch 22?

Can we have a decent year without acquiring a decent PG now?

Good point.

The only chance is that Ayton (and maybe Bridges, Okobo, etc.) have great rookie years. Or JJ and/or Bender really jumps forward in development. Or maybe Booker turns into a Harden/Westbrook/Kawhi level superstar.

I wouldn't mind Teague, he's a solid player.

I want Jones more, he was better than Teague on a smaller sample size, plus he is younger.

Dragic would help for a year and then be a hindrance.
