who cares
he cant be worse than wakefield
I actually didn't think Wakefield was that bad. Below average as a starter -yes, but better than I expected for a guy playing OL for the first time. I actually thinks there a decent chance Wakefield could be a solid back-up, but clearly not an option as starter.
First, let's not panic yet. Ross is reportedly only out for three weeks, so he'll be really for opening day. Meanwhile, Wakefield/Well/Brown will some reps in the next three weeks, and we'll get a chance to see if they're capable of starting at RT.
Second, IMO the front office couldn't have solved this in the off-season. There were NO OTs available in FA. Okay, okay.. There were some available, but supply couldn't match the demand, which drove the market up to insane salaries. Ashworth was one of the only options - a below average starter (he was benched last year) with a history injuries, yet the Seahawks had to pay him $4,5M a year to sign him. That's insane, and Graves made the right decision not to sign an OT under those circumstances. The only option would have been drafting an OT, but a rookie wouldn't solve this problem.
Meadow has been out out football for 2 years and quit because of injury - not an option!
